5-0 out of 5 stars excellent book
ok look....justin lookadoo isn't saying that EVERY single relationship won't last.what he is saying is that there is a VERY high chance that it won't last....soooo don't do things you aren't ready to do...to keep a relationship that isn't likely to last anyways.I absolutely loved the book.I told all of my fellow teenage Christian friends that they HAVE to read it.and by the way...my school is pretty small....and the guys and girls hang out together a lot.We hear about all of their dating disasters....When girls call them first they don't really like them...they just use them. Now, I'm not saying that there aren't any exceptions but this is what normally happens. So, stop dogging Justin Lookadoo for trying to help us....
1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
I bought this just as a summer read, I've been dating the same girl for well over a year and can say that our relationship is truly different, we do Love each other, and so on and so forth. This book basically says its impossible to do any of this, actually if you ever want to date ever don't read this book becaues it really should be dirrected to non Christians that have no idea how to date. This book actually made me half mad becuase it was so sterotypical "girls even Christian guys just want to get in your pants"what? No wonder the world is a messed up world today. It sounds like the authors to this book had a bad relatinship in their teen years and wrote a book to discourage dating from everyone else even though they said they incourage it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Total Loser
They have some things right (i.e. that some girls are too forward in relationships with guys; that some guys only have the physical aspects of a dating relationship in mind; that the closer you are to the person you are dating, the harder it will be WHEN - and not IF - you brake up; that most marraiges between highschool graduates and under-graduates are bound for problems, etc; etc.). But it remains unclear to me what the benifits of dating as it is defined in this book actually are. Fall in love. Sprinkle the relationship with a little - but not too much! - kissing and stuff. Get bored with the relationship. Brake up . . . cry over it . . . find someone else. May I ask, to what purpose? For the pleasure of the moment? Yes. And for those with a sensitive concience, a lifetime of regret. I think dating can be a good thing if done in an appropriate way, but braking someones heart is NOT appropriate. See my review on I Kissed Dating Goodbey. ( I gave it three stars .) ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars GREAT, BUUUUT
I'm a mom writing this; not a teen. This is great book and it covers a lot of good topics. Be forewarned, it tells your teen exactly how to use condoms, exactly how to do everything the best way. It covers a lot of STD transmission which is outstanding but then it tells teens how much ___play to do be4 having sex.I think the book goes too far thus discounting its other highly good advice.I don't feel comfortable giving this entire book to my 15 year old.I'm not ready for my teen to have a through explaination of orgasms. So read it before you hand it over!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the one to buy.
I have purchased a good many of sex ed. books for my young teen daughters and this is by far one of the best.Recommend.

3-0 out of 5 stars If you can look past the agenda . . .
I read Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes when I was taking a young adult literature class in college.I'd just finished reading Chinese Handcuffs, also by Crutcher, and even though I'm not interested in sports at all, I really enjoyed it.Feeling in the mood for some more angst, but wary of the emphasis on sports in a lot of his books, I decided swimming would be an interesting sport to read about and picked up Staying Fat.It wasn't bad.In fact, it was very similar to other books of Crutcher's I've read in that it deals with sports and angst.
5-0 out of 5 stars Two Teen's Couragous Battles Because ofBeing VeryDifferent.
When I began the book, I felt like it was going to be just some teen complaining because life isn't perfect. However, Eric was couragous and well beyond his years because he accepted himself completely.Beyond the teasing and tormenting that his peers gave him was a growing deep confidence in himself.
5-0 out of 5 stars Can I get an extra star?
I'm an ELA teacher. This is one of my favorite YA novels. After you get comfortable with the main character and hisrelationship with Sarah Byrnes, it's impossible to put this book down. The characters are new/strange and well defined. The issues are a bit heavy as is the language, so I'd keep it at 14 or older.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Very Good Book
This is an excellent book, with a solid, fairly executed mystery at its core, set against the backdrop of an equally intriguing historical mystery (is Shakespeare really the author of Shakespeare's plays?). A winner in every regard.

4-0 out of 5 stars Forsooth!
Shakespeare's Secret is a brisk middle-grade mystery with a simple premise: a sixth-grade girl learns that the house her family has just moved into may be hiding a million-dollar diamond. That idea alone is worthy of a good kid lit mystery, but the diamond didn't belong to just anybody - it was a de Vere family heirloom - as in Edward de Vere, the man some scholars believe may be the real author behind the works commonly attributed to William Shakespeare.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Mystery to Get Kids Thinking
This book is about a girl named Hero (named after a character in Much Ado About Nothing), who moves to a small town near Washington, DC. There, Hero becomes embroiled in a mystery involving a missing diamond and a potential link between Anne Boleyn and Edward De Vere (thought by many to be the true, secret author of Shakespeare's plays). I enjoyed the historical detail of this book, and also the strong friendship that develops between Hero and the older woman who lives next door, Mrs. Roth.

4-0 out of 5 stars Blue Bloods Book Review
The author of Blue Bloods is Melissa De La Cruz. This book is a fantasy book because it features mystical/supernatural creatures. Some of the creatures are vampires also know as blue bloods thus making the title of the book. The main theme in this book is you can always rely on your friends like Schuyler, the main character did. She was going through hard time with her mom being in a coma, her family's fortune dwindling away, and adjusting to living with her grandmother who is completely evil, did I mention she just found out she's a vampire, her friend Oliver helps her through all of this.
5-0 out of 5 stars What will happen?!
I'll start by saying I loved the book.
5-0 out of 5 stars Blue Bloods was Amazing!
I just finished Blue Bloods.

My name is Max Mordini. About 3-4 weeks ago I stumbled onto a book that I bought a year or two ago called Losers Inc. The book looked interesting and I decided to read it. After I read the first fifteen pages I was already hooked and I wanted to see what would happen throughout the rest of the book. I will now give you a summary of the book.

He finds this girl and has a choice of trying to impress this girl and not be a loser, or stay with the losers and not go for the girl. 5-0 out of 5 stars Can't Stop Talking About Midnighters
I believe I've started an epidemic. Many of my friends, irked by the fact that I won't shut up about Midnighters, are reading the books and enjoying them just as much as I do. But Book 3, Blue Noon, is the one that really made Midnighters stand out in my mind as one of my favourite sets of books (yes, I'm mad about Harry Potter and I adore Artemis Fowl and Bartimaeus, and this ranks right up there with them).
5-0 out of 5 stars Third Time Still A Charm
I bought Scott Westerfeld's Midnighters #3: Blue Noon back when it came out in March because I'm just that way, but I didn't get down to reading it until last week.
5-0 out of 5 stars Blue Noon, a fine finale to the thrilling Midnighters trilogy
The Midnighters are a group of five teenagers that live in the secret hour, the twenty-fifth hour of the day that only humans born at the stroke of midnight can experience. That midnight hour is called the secret hour, the blue time, the midnight hour.

1-0 out of 5 stars not thrilled.
The idea behind the book is promising. I was really disappointed by the overall story. Its one of the worst books I have read by far. It is highly anti-climatic. It is impossible to connect with the characters. I would suggest this book only to people who want to know how not to write

4-0 out of 5 stars Creepy, but must read
The life of Keir is a string of delusions. He only sees what he wishes to see.He cannot reconcile his reality to actual reality. The situations he puts himself in makes him and unlikable narrator, but one that the reader can even pity somehow. The book is heavy and powerful.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Fascinating and Disturbing Tale. A Must-Read!
This book is fascinating and disturbing. I couldn't put it down. Inexcusable, by Chris Lynch, is told from the perspective of Keir Sarafian, a high school senior, football kicker, and self-proclaimed "good guy". The very first scene depicts Keir in a bedroom having an intense confrontation with Gigi Boudakian, the girl that he claims to love. Gigi rails against him for what he's just done to her. "I said no" she insists. Keir argues with her, and with himself, because the picture in front of him simply can't be right. He is baffled. He can't possibly have just done this to someone he loves.

Editorial Review

She has a precocious 3-year-old sister who tends to leave wet nappies at the foot of her bed, an insane cat who is prone to leg-shredding "Call of the Wild" episodes, and embarrassing parents who make her want to escape to Stonehenge and dance with the Druids. No wonder 14-year-old Georgia Nicolson laments, "Honestly, what is the point?" A Bridget Jones for the younger set, Georgia records the momentous events of her life--and they are all momentous--in her diary, which serves as a truly hilarious account of what it means to be a modern girl on the cusp of womanhood. No matter that her particular story takes place in England, the account of her experiences rings true across the ocean (and besides, "Georgia's Glossary" swiftly eradicates any language barriers). 4-0 out of 5 stars The Funniest book I have ever read!!!
When I write review about book, I usually put a little describe of book on begging. But in Georgia Nicolson's diary there is no story - just teen-age life, only 100 times funnier! I can't say this is my favorite book, since I read many books that are much better then this, but it's definitely most funny book I have ever read! I would recommend it to any teen-girl who's aged 13 and up. There's no person which can read it and not laugh at last once! There are parts on which I laugh every time I read them. When you read 1st book you'll wish to read them all! Books are really funny, sassy written in teen stile, so, even if you don't like to read you'll like it - I still haven't met person that didn't liked them (my ma even said that books are great, she good hooked-up too!). Only bad thing are swears, but it's just way on which young-girls speak today. Scary, but true...

5-0 out of 5 stars A Hilarious Read Time After Time
I am 19 and got this book the summer I turned 14, right after it was published. Over the years, as the new ones come out, I've read it again and again. It never ceases to make me laugh aloud and it remains one of my very favorite books among classics like Little Women and Huck Finn, as well as its older cousin, Bridget Jones's Diary. Georgia is absolutely hysterical and I consider her a friend after all this time; I can't see myself ever outgrowing this book or the ones following in the series.

3-0 out of 5 stars For teens...
This book was somewhat funny, however, IMO it is for 15-year-olds and older (even though the main character is 14, the language and topics are pretty mature). I see one reviewer recommended it for 10-year-olds and I think this is far too young! Please read it first before recommending to anyone younger than 14. It is really only for the "young adult" category. I also did not like the use of a certain swear word; do the author and editor and publisher not know what it really means? It really has no place in most books, let alone one targeted at teens - this is not an adult book. It easily could have been replaced and really turned me off to reading the sequels. That, plus Georgia is actually a fairly unpleasant person. ... Read more

Reading that book taught me how to give back to my community if I ever had fortune and fame. It talks about how people should stick together like flies to feces rather than be against each other. It talks about how the military should give money to the community rather than spend money to send people to Iraq and have their lives taken. It talks about how the military should fight for democracy. Those are some of the things that I've benefited from the book. I think the book is interesting. I would recommend the book to anyone who is into stuff like the crisis that african american have.

This is one of the best books for the Hip Hop generation out in circulation. His nononsense views are understandable and shed light on many current issues in society. I think everyone, parent, teacher, community leader, and political assosciate should read this book.
