5-0 out of 5 stars AmAzInG!!!
This is by far the most amazing book i have ever read. The way that she will risk anything for her loved one really touched my heart. I am still waiting for the other books to arrive. I hope that it will be just as good as this book. This book shows courage and shows that someone doesn't have to be another person to be accepted. There will always be someone that will accept you as who you are.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love This Book...
I fell in love with this book as soon as I read the excerpt on the back of it. I became so involved in the book that i read it just a few hours! Dokey's use of detail effectively brought the story to life.I fell in love with charactors and thier world as if i were tking part in the action. It had me cheering for Kit and Bold Will till the end. When i had finnished the book, I immediately had to get my hads on the sequel, "Charlotte:Heart of Hope". Once again Dokey delivers a heartwarming novel of adventure and love. This irresitable spirit is again successfully reflected in "Stephanie:Heart of Gold" and "Carrie:Heart of Courage", the final two books of the series. After finishing the entire series for the third time, I began to wonder. What would the next generations of Kelly women be like? What adventure will they embark on next? And ultimately, what keepsake would they tuck away into the fine hope chest, telling of thier legacy.

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful continuation of the Hearts and Dreams saga.
Teenage Charlotte Campbell was happy enough living on the Indiana frontier, in spite of her family's simple, meager lifestyle. But it's 1814, and war is raging. Fearing for their daughter's safety, Charlotte's parentssend her east to stay with her aunt and uncle in Baltimore. But Charlotteisn't safe there, either. Not only are British ships threatening the city, but her uncle's mysterious midnight meetings begin to lead Charlotte tobelieve there may be a traitor in her own family. This book had pretty mucheverything in it: mystery, suspense, action, and of course, romance(Charlotte falls in love with Matthew, the grandson of Katherine, the maincharacter in book one). I highly reccomend this series if you are able tofind it, and you enjoy historical romances.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very nice, short romance story!
This book is great! I have read it at least half a dozen times over the years and it is a story you will never forget about Stephanie, a girl who runs away from home to find her true love- Maxwell Harrington, whom her father dislikes. She finds a ship Heading to California- the Gold Rush Country and stows away, until Chearlotte and her son - Jack, find her. In Charlotte, Stephanie finds a great friend who helps grow up and be courageous. Stephanie finds true love, but it just might not be who she thought it would be!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Teen Romance!
This is by far the Best romance pocketbook I have ever read! The plot is suspensful and the feelings are intense. Wow! I could even picture myself there! Its about a girl learning to be a better person and the meaning of true love. And, most importantly, sometimes you just have to open your eyes and see that true love is glaring right at you...

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK!
This is a great book! This book is my FAVORITE out of all of the Hearts nd Dreams series. It is worth the read. In the beggining she is all snotty, selfish, and inconsideret but by the end of the book she has changed SO much it's incredible! Ms. Dokey really has out done herself in this book. I've read other books of hers and this one is on my top list. If I could, I would give this book 10 stars but I can't. :-( BOO! Don't miss this exciting book about apperences and finding true love in the least expected places. Happy reading!Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An Awesome Book!
This book is really great! I've read all 4 of the books, and this is my favorite. It's about this shy girl,Carrie, who's always scared, sort of like chuckie on the rugrats. She meets this guy, and really likes him. His name is John Stapleton. All of Carrie's family is brave, her mom snuck on a boat, and followed the gold rush, just for the man she loved. This guy, John Stapleton, cares about other people, like the poor. But Carrie's friend, Jessica, who is VERY pretty, also likes John. This is the story of how carrie finds out who she is, and the story tells her life, and what happened to Carrie...5-0 out of 5 stars Amid the Chicago Fire, a girl discovers strength within her.
Timid sixteen-year-old Carrie Kelly feels as though she lives in the shadows of her brave, independent, and courageous ancestors. She knowsshe'll never be as brave as her mother Stephanie, who found her true loveafter travelling to California during the Gold Rush. Carrie does fall inlove, with handsome John Stapleton. But when Carrie's outgoing friendJessica falls for John as well, Carrie knows she doesn't have a chance withhim. But when the devestating fire of 1871 rages across Chicago, Carrie isseparated from her parents. If she is going to survive and find her familyagain, she must reach within herself to find untapped depths of courage andstrength that she never knew she had. Althought I wish that the Hearts andDreams series could have continued beyond this book, I have no complaitsabout the book itself. It showed that you never know your own strengthuntil you are tested, as evident in Carrie. I highly reccomend this toteens who like historical romances.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best books i've ever read!
This was the best book! I've read it three times and the ending six! Carrie is the type of person who I would want to be, yet she struggles to find herself and to live up to her family name. Yet, through her path to self discovery, she realizes she hasn't lost the love she thought that shehad. ... Read more
