5-0 out of 5 stars It's real.
This book was good. All the books I've read (Jan.-June) wereamazing. The Chosen One keeps getting closer in this book. Too bad thescroll is lost...And I thought it wasn't fair how Julia and George couldn't be together because of that dumb Healer ! Sorry, I'm getting upset. Other than this, it's a good book. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Start to an Interesting Series
Between December 31, 1998, and January 1, 1999, things start going wrong all over the world. It begins with a group of young women in hoods and robes taking over a mostly-deserted military installation in Russia.Throughout this twenty-four hour period, blackouts rage through the United States, Europe, Asia, and beyond. As teens everywhere are celebrating the start of a new year in style, everyone over the age of twenty seems to either disappear, or worse--dissolve into a puddle of steaming, black goo. What the heck is going on?Why are all of the adults and very young children suddenly gone from Earth--and how will the teens that are left cope?Added to the mix is that some people in the 19-22 range who survived the first round of deaths now seem to be succumbing to whatever happened, dying off like everyone else.
3-0 out of 5 stars ------------
Count Down was a series i picked up in the library just for the fact that I was bored and 12 130 page books looked like something to take my mind off things at night. And they did, for the first 4-5 books. Then the plot slows, the only characters who show a lasting spark are George and Julia who are the only real respectable characters in the whole series, and everyone else is busy doing each other or getting drunk or getting so high they can't even think straight. The plot was really stupid at first (people just dropping dead in a pool of black goo? I mean come on!) but then in book 7 the whole thing is explained and it was interesting. The whole shpeel with the chosen one was interesting enough but the "demon" was stupid. I didn't like the fact that Parker rushed through book 12 just like that, there was no depth to the ending and he rushed his conclusion. Overall I give it three stars only for the good twists he has.

5-0 out of 5 stars Count Down:January
This is the first book in a 12 book series that takes place in the year 1999.In this book, everyone over 21 begins to die. Will everyone under 21 make it through the year?A great book and a great series.Of course, what happens in the year 1999 didn't really happen. And it's far fected. But, an interesting series, anyways. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book,Great Series
I love the countdown books!! April was the last 1 I read and now I'm going on 2 May. I think Harold is such a fake and that George is right about him. My favorite character is George and i hope he convinces people that Haroldis running a scam and I cant wiat 2 see what happens with Sarah because sheknows who the chosen one is.........

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best series of books i've ever read in my life.
I first found this book by mistake. I was looking for another so I thought I might as well get this until the store gets the book I was looking for. so I bought it and went home and read it. Now every month i can't waituntil the next one comes out. I took the book to school and I got all myfriends reading it now. It's the main topic of conversation every morningin class. " Oh, you have October already?!? Where did you get? WhatHappened in this book?? Can I borrow it when your done? " are just afew of the questions asked every morning. I would just like to say toDaniel that keep on going with the books even after the end on the year. Idon't know what other books to read after the end.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
Like all the other books of the Countdown series this book is excellent. But this book differs from the other books in a big way, this book sort of drags on and on. There are a few important events that happen in this book that are needed to know to continue the series, but that's about it. This book is a good one to read but it's not an edge-of-your-seat book like the others.

5-0 out of 5 stars Say Count Down by Daniel Parker? Always great!
Everysingle Count Down book is great. Although this one doesn't quite be in the best list of mine. But it deserves a 5 stars. 4-0 out of 5 stars "July" let's down series
While all the other Countdown books are excellent, "July" was somewhat of a disappointment. While we figure out our suspicions of the betrayers, the rest of the book seems unstructered and bland.Theinteractions are well developed, but the plot of this novel lacksmotivation. It''s predecessors are very well put to gether, but this justseems like a "Remember when..." book that reminds us of all thathas happened.Sure, a few of the evnts in this book are important, likethe rain of blood and the final two chapters, but the plot needs to moveon. Also, when are readers going to learn of Josh's fate? ... 5-0 out of 5 stars I Loved this book, you can't put it down.
This book is one that u can't put down, it puts you through a rollercoaster of emotions. I think the story I'm most drawn to is the story of julia and George, they are people who love eachother through it all!

5-0 out of 5 stars A must read for teen book lovers.
whenever I see a new Count Down book my excitement rises.August, like the rest in the series, was one of those "I can't put it down this is sooo exciting I can't wait for the next enstallment" books.I lovethe way the charachters seem so real and how the plot always keeps me onedge and wanting more with it's twists and turns. It is a well written and truely addicting book/series. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The series continues.............
Everything is finally taking shape. Everyone is beginning to be exposed as who they truly are. Conclusions are being formed by the reader as to who everyone really is. But be careful what you think because you might just be wrong. This book is definately a must if you have already read the first 8 books. Continue the series and find out what really happens.

5-0 out of 5 stars Everything's falling into place now...
Lots of things have happened over the last nine months and time's running out.Sarah gains contact with someone she thought she lost, Jezebel is showing her true colors, and Ariel finds something out about something shewas given... and I'm not going to tell you anymore because that would justruin it!!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Stellar End!
I'll admit I'm a sad about the Countdown series being over, since I'm a huge fanatic and made a big deal of it coming out each month, keeping my friends updated. The series had the most wonderful plot with so many twistsand turns, but in the end, you can still understand how it followedthrough. It really surprised me, and I'm good at figuring out who everyonereally is, but this just boggled my mind about how it changes. I recomendit to anybody. I hope Daniel Parker comes out with another series, hiswriting is very real, like he jumped into the charcters head, no matterwhat age. Loved it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome conclusion!
I'm a little sad that the Countdown series is over with this book, sinceit is my favorite series. But if it had to end, this was an awesomeconclusion. The true identities of both the Demon and the Chosen One arerevealed, as well as just what the Demon wants. So if you have read theother Countdown books, you must read December! ... Read more
