3-0 out of 5 stars Good, But Not Up To Simpsons Comics Standards
I have a dozen Simpsons comic books and read them all over and over again. On Parade, though, is my least favorite.Like all the books, the artwork is awesome and it has all the popular Simpsons characters, but, unlike the other books, most of the comics have very weak endings.4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad
The Simpsons Comics carry on in this edition, but it seems to be a slight sag here. The first edition, in which the political parties come to town seems to drag. But, we get some classics, like "They Saved Homer'sBrain". It's not up to the classic that was Simpsons ComicsExtravaganza, but it's better than some stuff from Simpsons ComicsSpectacular.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
Simpsons, Comics on Parade, is the second Simpsons comic book collection I've gotten so far.If you look on the page for the Simpsons Comics Spectacular you will find another one of my reviews. After reading both ofthem, I would definitely recommend the Simpsons, Comics on Parade, becauseof the variety of stories jam-packed in it.My favorite would have to beissue #25 because it seemed the most like a real Simpsons TV episode.Icould imagine everybody saying everything, and it had a great plot as well. KEEP IT UP GROENING! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Willow comes into her own
I'm glad there was a series of books written abou Willow. She's been in Buffy's shadow long enough.Even though they were best of friends and Willow never begrudged Buffy the limelight, everyone deserves a little attention, even though it's for the bad things we do.It's Human Nature!I haven't finished part 3 yet and hopefully it will end on a happy note!I love happy endings! But it's just "what if" anyway.Excellent read!

5-0 out of 5 stars What if...
I really like this trilogy, because I know that there wasn't much time -t.v episode wise- to really take the episodes leading up to the finale where this book goes. I especially enjoyed the killing off of two annoying characters that aren't on the show, (1 of who was a character) and making this person a personal dummy-pet to Willow. Go Willow!
1-0 out of 5 stars Worst Buffy serious ever
This isBAD rewrite of the Season 6 finale when Willow went bad.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVED THIS SERIES!
Vampire Diaries was a great series!! I didn't like how the last book in the series was going but it ended up great! The book starts with: girl meets hot vampire Stephen and his also very hot but evil brother Damon. She is in love with the kind hearted Stephen, but evil Damon wants her all to himself. She trys to stay away from Damon but no matter what she does he keeps finding ways to get to her to take her blood, slowly turning her into a vampire. She cannot tell Stephen what is going on because he is still weak from a horrific battle with Damon, and if she would tell him he would become so angry he would try to kill Damon and end up dying because he isn't strong enough to battle him again so soon. The whole series has a great plot, but I definitly recommend buying all the books before you start reading the series or you will be left hanging untill the next book. Trust me I know! I started reading the Awakening #1 in the Vampire Diaries series, and I had to end up waiting for two months to find the second book and another month to find the third and fourth book. I have read the series about 6 times since last year. L.J. Smith is a great writer, if you like the vampire diaries you should read the Secret Circle series and her Night World series.

5-0 out of 5 stars Addictive from start to finish
The mystery continues in book 2.
5-0 out of 5 stars Coming back for more!
Before Buffy and Angel lite up the tv screens spinning off book series there was L.J. Smith's series 'Vampire Diaries". This series was the first vampire books I ever read back when I was about 12.Ten years later, and heavy dog eared copies of the "Vampire Diaries" the story and plot is still fresh as ever, keeping me coming back again and again. If you love the paranormal, a bit of romance, adventure, two good looking vampires, and of course the age old struggle school politics then you'll love this book. Its a story that you wont soon forget. 5-0 out of 5 stars Frank and Nancy Made 4 each Other!
u know this is by far the most exciting bookk i've read till now in the nacy drew and hardy boys super myteries. but i do think that nancy should leave ned and frank shuld leave calie cuz nancy and frank r so much alike and they r truly made 4 each other so caroline keene plz if u get upon this review do consider this cuz most of us wanty nancy/frank relationship and they shuld just 4get callie and ned.

5-0 out of 5 stars TAKE MY WORD> THIS BOOK IS GOOD
i loved this book a lot. BEsides the nancy and frank aspect, there was a lot of action, bombs, knives, terrorsits etc..of course the nancy frank thing convinced me to buy the book, but i enjoyed the mystery a lot too. I also likes how nancy is portrayed in this book, not like in Operation titanic or royal revenge, she is very clever. also Unlke all other super mysteries, Frank's thoughts and feelings are portrayed deeper than all other characthers. And there are some funnny things and comments going on between the brothers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nancy and Frank Forever
I think that Nancy and Frank should dump their boyfriends and girlfriends and stay together. I mean they are obviosly perfect for each other. The best parts are when they almost kiss. But when they kiss, that was good too!!! This is the best book ever!!! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A very good book, worth 4 1/2 stars
Though I had read the intire Young Jedi Knights series (except the final trilogy) several times, I was surprised to note as I started reading it once again that this was the only one so far that I remembered virtually nothing about. In it, Jacen and Jaina's old friend Lusa comes to the Jedi Academy desperatly seeking refuge from the Diversity Aliance, an all alien political movement bent on destroying all humans, that she was once a part of.Meanwhile, everyone continues to search for Bornan Thul who is desperately trying to evade capture from the Diversity Aliance and keep from them the information he is protecting, because if they get ahold of it, it could mean the end of humankind...Meanwhile, Raynar gets a crush on Lusa and it moves him to do something for his family while his father (Bornan Thul) is missing. He decides to go to Mechis 3 and take care of his uncles droid operation since he too seems to be missing. As you can probably guess, everyone goes with him and discovers a startling truth. In general, this was a worthy book to continue this fascinating saga that tells of the next generation of Star Wars heroes, though not the best in the series. For one thing I wish they would include Anakin more.He is my favorite of the Solo children (with Jaina as a close second) and it's not as it there is even a big age difference, he is only a year and 1/2 younger than Jacen and Jaina.Another thing that bothers me is that who exactly gave all the kids permision fly around the galaxy by themselves?Just because Tenel Ka has her own ship somehow gives EVERYONE the freedom to go where they please. This does not sound like something that protective parents like Han and Leia would allow.I myself am fifteen, the same age as the kids in this series, and I am not allowed to do these things.Oh well, it is just a book.Oh, and one more thing, I would not advise reading this book before the others in the series, because it will make absolutely no sense on it's own.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great series!!
I've been reading the Young Jedi Knights series from Book One and havealways been looking for the next one to come out!I absolutely love howthe characters have really come into their own and seem nearly real -almost like you know them! This book was not the best on I've read in theseries, but it was good and I can't wait to grab the next one!

4-0 out of 5 stars it was a little confusing but great anyway

5-0 out of 5 stars Soul-mates
I have read nearly all of the books in the Night-world series, and I have to say that this one is my favourite, without a doubt! It is Ash of course that just makes this book, he is irrestible, I became hooked on him from the very first, I guess it's the whole 'bad-boy' vampyre thing he's got going on that you become addicted to him! I started reading these books years ago, but they went out of print, I would love to get the last few if anyone has any idea how I can get them! I would recommend these books to anyone of any age, I mean I'm 21 now, and I still love them!

5-0 out of 5 stars Possibly the Best out of this series!
It was this book nearly 10 years ago that made me fall in love with L.J. Smith and her writing.I have read nearly everything by her in the years after my first encounter with Daughters of Darkness, yet this book remains dear to my heart. The characters pop out of the pages and you fall in love instantly with Rowan, Jade, and Kestrel...but you will especially fall in love with Ash.Look for Ash again in the 6th book of the series when he makes another appearance. This book is fantastic!

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST BOOK EVER!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Very Good Book
Do you like Star Wars? Well if you do you should read the book the Diversty Aliance part of the Jouner Jedi Kinghts series. Its about after the movies. Its hard to compare to any series because most of the other books are about the movies. The book the Diversty Aliance is about a group of aliens called the Diversty Aliance that are looking for a plague that can kill all human life but aliens are immune to it. There leader has sent allmost every bounty hunter to find it. I think it was a good book for ages 9-13 I read this book in 1day. I liked it because I`m a Star Wars fan and you get to read about some old charters like Han Solo And some new ones like Louwe.

5-0 out of 5 stars A very good book that does credit to the series
I have always thought the first series of Young Jedi Knights (Heirs of the Force, Shadow Academy, The Lost Ones, Lightsabers, Darkest Knight, and Jedi Under Siege) to be superior to this series (Shards of Alderaan, Diversity Alliance, Delusions of Granduer, Jedi Bounty, and The Emperor's Plague) simply because the foe was a little more interesting to me, and the characters seemed a bit better fleshed out.Now that I am older however, and reading these again for the first time in several years, I have more of an open mind and I realized that this second series is in fact very good, and, while it doesn't have as much action as the first series, the character development is superb. In this book Raynar's mother calls him to come home and be with her while his father is missing. He does and is accompanied by Jacen , Jaina, Tenel Ka, and Lowie who wish to keep him company and give him moral support while he gets settled but as you can propably guess, things do not go exacly as planned, and soon they are all off on an adventure to Kuar to try and discover where Raynar's father might have gone, with the absence of Raynar, who stays with his mother.Through epic battles with giant combat arachnids and assasin droids, they begin to discover that Raynar'sfather could be hiding for more reasons than his reputation, andthat in fact there is a high probability that he is in fact hiding a secret that could destroy the galaxy...So anyway, this was a great book, though it would make more senseif you have already read all the previous books in the series, including the ones from the first series. One of the few things I don't really like that much about this series, is that everyonehas to have someone else to "like".This gets incresingly annoying as the series goes on and the kids get older. And lets face it, Raaba's only purpose of existance is so Lowie will not be left out of all this.Zekk started out that way too, but luckily he now has his own place in the Star Wars world other than The Boy Jaina Likes, so I guess there is still hope. One ofthe good things is that it only goes as far as mild crushes and never all that boyfriend/girlfriend, breaking up and all that, sothat is good thing, especially for someone like me who is not very big on romance at all, especially imature teen romance whichseems to be so popular.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth your money
If you've read all of the other books in the series, you'll enjoy reading this one.If you haven't, you may want to read "Shards of Alderaan" first. However, this book is wonderful for leading up to the rest of the Diverstiy Alliance based books. It's a lot of background setting for the rest of the series. You won't regret buying it. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Aliens on Earth as a minor plot device, not well done
In this story, Tom has created a submarine that can explore the depths of the ocean. His adversary is the evil agents of Brungaria, who are searching for a sample of a new and more powerful explosive. They stole it from the U. S. military and when it appeared that they would be discovered, they placed the sample in a whaling harpoon and shot it into a sperm whale. The Brungarian sub and Tom in his Dyna-4 are in a race to find the harpoon and obtain the formula.

4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting back stories.
I read the NJO series before reading these and so I was familiar with the characters that were introduced. Jaina and Jacen Solo appeared in other books first. It is a pretty interesting read, but of course it was ment for a teen audience. I read it in probably less than two hours total time. It wasn't ment to be too indepth. It was an introduction for the series. I'm looking forward to reading the rest. It is worth your time to read because these characters play big parts in both the NJO and Dark Nest series.

1-0 out of 5 stars I wish George Lucas had asked me to read this first...
Please know that I LOVE all things Star Wars--movies, books, figurines, articles, the website--everything.This book, on the other hand, was a dismal failure to put it positively. What it has going for it:multisyllabic words, two of four protagnoists are females, and...that's it!This book was boring! It took about 5/6 of the book to introduce the boring characters and then the horrible TIE fighter just flew away.
2-0 out of 5 stars About what you'd expect from Kevin J. Anderson.
After the atrocious Jedi academy series, and the downright silly darksabre, you would think that there would be no place to go for Kevin J. Andersons Star Wars books but up.Alas if it were only so.Read more

The wrong number 2 is a suspenseful and exciting book. If you like to watch horror movies then you should read this book.Jade and her best friend Deena has been getting threaten calls since Mr. Farberson has wanted to kill them.Last year they were trapped in his house and he had tried to kill them. Now it is there senior year in high school. They are hoping that they don't have to deal with him. Then suddenly they heard he was back. Well then it was just a rumor. Mr. Farberson is in jail. Well that is what they think! Then one night Jade was watching the news and talking on the phone with Deena. She suddenly freak out and told Deena that Farberson was out of jail now. So then Jade went to Deena house and they told Jades (step brother) that is in the hospital form getting in trouble that Farberson is out of jail. They have been ready to go get the money that his wife has told them about. So then her brother is trying to hurry up and get the money before he gets home. So will he get it? To find out then you should read this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book very scary
Wrong Number and Wrong Number Two are both excellent books that are very scary and suspensful. Deena and Jade are the best of friends who set out to prove Chuck's innocense in a murder that they hear on the other end of the telephone. It's very creepy!!! They are actually in the killer's house multiple times. They are inside his house alone, when they suddenly hear the door open and the killer come in with no chance of escape. He catches them inside his house (the house with the bloodstained carpet) and he's already killed once, what would stop him? They meet with him face to face several times, which makes it so scary and suspensful! Great book, I highly recommend it!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Wrong Number
R.L. Stine's book The Wrong Number is a suspenseful, action-packed murder story.Deena and Jade make some harmless prank calls to kids at school. It all falls apart when Deena's brother Chuck catches them and wants in on the action.Only his calls are not so harmless. He makes a call to a Fear Street resident who is about to be murdered. Now the murderer knows who they are and where they live.Something that started as a prank ends in a murder.Read more

When I read the back cover of this, it didn't seem too interesting. But in fact, it's a solid read.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Cheater
I thought theis book was very cool.I would reffer this book to many kids. It is filled with lots of excitment, and mystery. The begining was ok. but when Adam came in eveything got exciting. The ending was not how i expected it to be. the ending could have been alittle more exciting. But over all the was great!

This was my first Stine book I read. I bought it against my mother's wishes. I was with my Dad when I bought it. She thought that it would scare me. I told her that I bought it & LOVED it. So, she gave me permission to read the Stine books. I bought tons of them. Stine books are the best. I am 23 now and have loved his books for over 10 years. About, 2 years ago I bought a big book lot of his books from the internet for under $90 dollars. I had gotton some duplicates. So, I am going to try and get my 11 year old brother into reading these books. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars the insiders
This book is exceptional. I liked it a lot and im definitly reading the next book. The Insiders is a fun easy to fallow book that is not only suspenseful but also very entertaining and hard to put down. It is very easy to connect to. Also it makes it very interesting watching 5 completely different personalities join together to become a group of best friends who at times envy eachother but find ways to come back together to form their group "the insiders".

4-0 out of 5 stars Totally worth it later
This book looks like another teen beach read and it is. Its fun and juicy, and an easy book to escape summer reading lists with. The first wasn't amazing but read on to the second and i promise it will be worth it.You get so hooked on these five different boys and their confusing and connecting lives.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but missing something.
While I did like this book there was a glaring ommission as far as I am concerned. Years before writing this book or the other Young Jedi Knight books Mr. Anderson wrote three full length novels telling about the formation of the Jedi Academy. However with a threat to the Academy by an army of dark jedi Luke makes on call for help to the older knights. No Kyp Durron, no Kenth Hammer, no Cilgal. The only two are Luke and Tionne. It is one thing to forget other author's work, but not your own. Shame on you Mr. Anderson. I would have given four stars but because of this it only gets three.

3-0 out of 5 stars Well...
While I gave the first book a good reveiw, by the time this book rolled around, I realized how silly these books are. I know they're for young adults but still...5-0 out of 5 stars excelenant

2-0 out of 5 stars Not the best Buffy book
I did not enjoy reading this Buffy book at all. I found it to be very boring--way too much dialogue and way to little action. The author had the Scoobys arguing and explaining everything over and over again, as if the characters were strangers and had no chemistry.I didn't feel as though the author captured the characters or their relationships well at all. He had Buffy constantly feeling negative thoughts and irritation toward Willow, when their friendship (especially in the early years) was quite respectful and true blue. Giles and Buffy seemed to be depicted as not close at all and even early in their relationship, there was still love and understanding there, which I was not feeling from this book. And don't get me started on Xander, who was depicted as no-nonsense, hard-working and independent. Where was our happy-go-lucky, bumbling, jokester? (Remember, this book is supposed to be one year after Buffy came to town, so season 2, right?) I just wasn't buying it. Maybe part of the reason was that the time frame was never really clear until late in the book, or did I miss something? On that note, I must have missed something because Buffy and Angel hardly seemed to know each other, but Xander and Cordelia were already sneaking around, which didn't happen until Buffy and Angel were already going pretty hot and heavy (but before the whole Angelus stuff, so not that hot and heavy, but in love, ice skating rink, kissing Angel's demon face, ring a bell?).
4-0 out of 5 stars Fun
This book was good if a little dry at times. For the most part it keeps you entertained. I like that Cordelia had a big role in the storyline. Usually in the Buffy books she is persona non grata. I did think there should be more focus on Buffy though. It did annoy me that the book didn't narrow down the time period it was set in until close to the end (the writer finally revealed it was set about a year after Buffy came to town). I wanted more about the back story of Buffy. But for a short read this was pretty good. I would recommend it to anyone with a few free hours on their hands.

4-0 out of 5 stars "I'm not stupid," Cordelia interrupted.
If I hadn't just read 'Spark and Burn,' I would say that 'Afterimage' boded well for the future of Buffy as a book series.Pierce Askegren wedges this story into the time period just as Xander and Cordelia are about to become an item. It's Buffy's junior year during that brief but magical time when things seemed to be going well.Well, as well as slayage ever gets.As stranger (Balsamo) comes to town with a plan to resurrect the Sunnydale drive-in in true 50's style and suddenly waves of strange events haunt the world's most haunted town.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book ROCKS!!!
This the second best book in the series and I really like it!One of the best things is how Boba Fett mows down the Divirsity Alliance troops! I'll try not to give much more away exept that I think it's high time we had some romance in the series! I just think that Zekk should have kissed Jaina when he had a chance! I think it's sad that Raynar's dad died after all he went through to hide the plauge from Noala Tarkona.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a good book.
I am a fan of star wars espesially the books. This set of books is one of the best I've read so far.I like them all but I think the best part in this one is the surprise ending wich is very funny. But I think they should be read in order.Other wise your in the dark for have the book! But these books are my favorit yet.Thank you for your time.

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent conclusion to the second storyline in the saga
Since I am rereading this entire series for the first time in several years I was surprised to realize I remembered almost nothing about this book despite the fact that it is the climax of the series. This does not however, in any way imply a lack of excitment. In fact it was solidly gripping from page one right to the end. This book was the last in the second cycle of Young Jedi Knights novels, and it was one of the best.It basically takes up right where the previous book left off, with the kids, now fully healed, preparing to meet withthe senet to discuss the possible threat the Diversity Alliance may be posing to all human life in the galaxy.Meanwhile Zekk goes to find Bornan Thul and takes Raynar with him because Raynar is Bornan's son and he would be more likely to trust him if he is with him. They discover the human plague secret so Leia sends them (Zekk, Bornan, Raynar, Jacen, Jaina, Lowie, and Tenel Ka) on a mission to go and try to destroy the plague storehouse before the Diversity Aliance can get to it anddestroy all human's with it.The rest of the book is an intense account of their adventures trying to accomplish this goal, but as to whether they succeed or not, well, you'll just have to readthe book, because I'm not telling!I will say though, that it has several unexpected twists, one of which is very sad.One of the few problems with this book is that Leia would knowingly send her children on such a dangerous mission.Despite the fact that they are almost full Jedi Knights, that doesn't change the fact that they are her children, and I don't believe any parent would willingly send their child into such mortal danger. My parants definitely wouldn't!I must admit, I am getting slightly less resentful ofall these irritating little couples that are forming (Jacen and Tenel Ka, Jaina and Zekk, Lowie and Raaba, and of course Lusa andRaynar).Jacen and Tenal Ka are funny and interesting, and I have no objections to them liking each other, and Lowie and Raaba are plausible, though boring.Jaina and Zekk are hugely boring though, and Lusa and Raynar are completly implausible. Even so, this was not overpoweringly bad, so I guess I really have nothing to complain about really. In short, this is an excellent series of Star Wars books that are better even then some regular books I've read, and certainly more exciting. ...
