5-0 out of 5 stars An inspirational book
Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul llis a great book written by teenagers and some adults about life. It teaches us about life and how to deal with it. It shows us that no matter where you came form, what you look like, or how you act, almost all teenagers are the same. This book is an inspiration to everyone.
4-0 out of 5 stars Chicken Soup For the Teenage Soul
This is a great book for every teenager. Every teen goes througha tough time at least once in their life and this book can really help. It has stories on things from teenage romance to suicide. This is a great book for everyone from teenagers to adults.

5-0 out of 5 stars Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul 2 is great
Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul 2 is a great book for teens because it is something we can relate to. It is filled with short anecdotes written by teenagers or once-teenagers about their adolescent experiences. It is inspirational and teaches us about who we are, about people, and about life in general. I recommend this book for all teenagers. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Chicken Soup For the Teenage Soul: The Real Deal School
After reading this book, I found all of the stories included in this compilation very touching. I liked how each short story aimed to teach a little life lesson. The inspiration that these stories carried along with them made me realize how much this book was worth reading. I also enjoyed reading the quizzes and tidbits of information on various topics. The only complaint I would have against this book would be the authors' anecdotes from their own lives. They attempted to relate to teens, but fell short when it came to accuracy. It has been a while since they have been teenagers, and many things have changed in high school. Not only that, but their stories proved to be a bit dull. Other than that, I really did enjoy reading this book, and I look forward to reading other books in this series.

5-0 out of 5 stars Drowned Wednesday is WONDERFUL!!!!
Drowned Wednesday, the 3rd book in The Keys to the Kingdom series, by Garth Nix, is a fantastically original read. (It is the 3rd book in the series, so you do have to start with the first book in the series, Mister Monday.) The characters are very well developed, and it is just as exciting as the previous books in the series. This book is a great blend of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Adventure that you will not forget! I can't wait to get my hands on the 4rth one in the series!
5-0 out of 5 stars a great bedtime adventure
I have read each of the Keys to the Kingdom books to my [...] every night before bed. We just finished Wens. and are looking forward to starting Thurs. I think the books are a great read even for younger kids who enjoy adventure books, if the parents are willing to help out the reader with the tougher words. I would strongly reccomend these books to children of any age, but also caution that some situation might be a little too scary if your child isn't used to "older" books. We read the Harry Potter series first and it is no scarier then that series.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Tale of the Whale
Wednesday being the third day of the week (if you don't start at Sunday of course), there are no prizes for guessing that this is book three of The Keys to the Kingdom series. If you haven't read Mister Monday and Grim Tuesday, please look no further - without the two preceding books you'll be up a creek without a paddle if you try this one on its own.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great with Devotions
I read a story a night from this book after we read devotions at the dinner table. We all love the stories. Some of the stories our sad and make you think. Some are funny like the Lesson in Lavendar story which is one of our favorites on Compassion and Forgiveness. This storyjust happened to fit right with our Devotion readings from Sticky Situations 2 another great book. The book is geared for teens but we all can relate to the stories and enjoy them.
5-0 out of 5 stars Chicken Soup!
I absolutely love all chicken soup books and this one was equally amazing. I thought that Chicken Soup for the Christian Teenage Soup was very well written. The stories were very realistic and I think that anyone could relate to them. It covered everyday issues like school, family, friends, and just faith in general. In short this book is very heartwarming and can be read by most everyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Inspired
The book Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul Three really inspired me in many different ways. When I started reading this book I couldnt put it down for a second without wanting to pick it up again. This book has ben very helpful and useful to me. The book talks about real problems and stories that teens have sent to the publishers and published in their book. It's nice to have us young people writing stories and having them published for others to read them and be inspired. When ever you get the chance you should read this book so you can see what's so great and inspiring about his book.

5-0 out of 5 stars greatest book ever!!
This book was totally awesome and I advise people to read it. It was one of the best books I have ever read and it gave me alot of advice through the very interesting stories they provided. This book was my favorite out of the "chicken noodle soup for the teenage soul" series. I really enjoyed reading it, for me it was one of those books that are so good you can't put it down. I really recommend this book if you like real life situations where you can really seem to realate to at least some of the stories. It feels like you have been in these sort of situations before and the stories kind of put you in the other person's shoes. This book made me feel sorry or happy for the main people in these stories and they made me think about my life and if I am hurting people or I made them feel the way some of the characters do. Long story short I really loved this book it had romance, tragedy, horror, suspense, and well... you get the idea, but it made me love it and I am sure if you read it you will feel the same as I did about this book.

3-0 out of 5 stars worth it for finger paints and crayons
This book overall was not as good as the first two but it's worth it for the piece called "Finger Paints and Crayons" a beautifull written poem about how sad it is to live in a world with racism. That one touched me the most, I haven't read the book in years but that poem is one of the things I remember about it. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars the drive behind the story too similar to Mister Monday
After _Mister Monday_, I was hoping the author would take _Grim Tuesday_ a step further and really draw the readers into the story.I wanted to know more about the House and the Will, and see Arthur and Suzy really grow as characters.Unfortunately, none of those things happened.Arthur and Suzy seem exactly the same as before, the drive behind the story is exactly the same (Arthur needs to get the Keys in order to save his family), and that made the story very predictable and boring.Disappointing.
4-0 out of 5 stars And you thought Mondays were bad
If you're going to read this book, I strongly recommend that you make sure that you've read "Mister Monday" first. That way you see, I don't have to explain all about the Architect and the Will, and the seven hidden fragments and the treacherous trustees and all that.Just call me lazy if you like.
5-0 out of 5 stars another fun read by an author with great imagination (4.5 stars)

3-0 out of 5 stars Amanda's Review of Chicken Soup for the Teen's Soul on Love & Friendship
I like the Chicken Soup for the Soul books, and I liked this one in particular because it was written for teens. It was, I believe, the first one I read for teens, and I enjoyed reading very much what other teens had to say. On the other hand, though, many of the stories are similar, so after I had read a few, they got a little bit reptitious. Overall, though, it was a good book.

Heading: Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul on Love and Friendship
5-0 out of 5 stars Chicken Soup-Love & Friendship
This book is a very good and interesting book to read. It has a lot of personal stories in it that help other people who are going through the same problems understand that they are not alone. The book covered many different topics and I think that's what made it so good. The different topics were; Falling In Love, Breaking Up, Friendship, Tough Times, Family And Love, Acts Of Kindness, and Growing Up. All these things are very critical to a teenager and this is what they all go through.

4-0 out of 5 stars Blackout by Keith R.A. DeCandido
Blackout by Keith R.A. DeCandido is a well written and entertaining story. It is a "Spike" story, and you won't find any of the Scoobies or Buffy in this tale.It takes place in 1977 New York, and fills out the story of the last few days in the life of Nikki, the Vampire Slayer. The story alternates between Nikki's tale and Spike's, who has come to New York to bag himself his second slayer.Standing between Spike and his final confrontation with Nikki is a local Vampire mob boss, who wants Spike either recruited into his organization or dusted. When Dru unexpectedly arrives in NY, things really heat up.

1-0 out of 5 stars What, did her publisher only give her a week to write this?
I finished reading this book a while back, but I just now got around to posting my review.I absolutely hated this book.Though it did try to tie in with the information provided in Angel season 5 (which takes place at the same time as this novel), it did not do a very good job at it.Some of the information was incorrect or flat out not plausible. Some of it also did not fit in with the timeline on Angel; such as the events surrounding Andrew's visit to Wolfram & Hart.Another thing is that the writer, Nancy Holder, didn't write the characters very well. The people were either all out of character or the far, extreme stereotype of that character. This was reflected not only in their behavior and mannerisms, but also in the decisions that were made. The odd behavior was especially true for Xander, Faith and Robin.Robin Wood wasn't like himself at all.He is a very professional, well spoken man, but the author wrote him like a stereotypical black thug.In regards to the decision making, where they go after leaving California is not where I think Joss Whedon (the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer) would have sent them.In the book, a surviving watcher had just begun to rebuild the Watchers Council from scratch. He was just as stuffy and arrogant as the original Watchers Council leaders had been.In addition to being a NEW council, they obviously did not have the connections or power that the old council had (which wasn't that great even at their best). The characters also put too much trust into The Immortal - a man who's history has been clouded by neither evil nor good acts (if that makes any sense at all).
1-0 out of 5 stars A Horrible Blot On The Sparkling Buffyverse
When I heard that a book was being released detailing what happened in the Buffyverse after the Sunnydale Hellmouth's closing, I was very excited. The only hints as to what happened to Buffy and gang were a few vague hints during season five of 'Angel'.I figured it would be nice to know what happened to the crew.I wish I hadn't found out.
5-0 out of 5 stars THANK YOU NANCY HOLDER!
I am no literary critic. To be honest I hate reading. I prefer to watch TV like oh let's see....."Buffy The Vampire Slayer," or maybe "Angel?" So when I found out there was a book that picked up right where the last episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" ended I was completely excited, and let me just say my excitement was totally justified.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Exactly Faithful
During Season Three of the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, viewers were introduced to Faith, a bold Slayer who loved breaking the rules and testing the limits. A fan favorite, she appeared on the spin-off series Angel on multiple occasions, then came back to BtVS during its final season.
5-0 out of 5 stars Feed Your Head
The book's title is a reference to the 1971 classic, "Go Ask Alice," a cautionary tale about drug use which took its name from the 1967 Jefferson Airplane hit, "White Rabbit" about a girl who ends up overdosing. Somehow the author perfectly captures the structure of the original book while maintaining Faith's voice magnificently. And this is no cautionary tale. While a simple analysis of Faith might reduce her to a self-destructive youth, this book gets underneath the dualism (one pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small) within her...We are drawn to danger, even when it hurts us. It is why we love Faith. She is a reflection of the conflicting forces within each of us. This and other themes are woven into a brilliantly conceived plot. If you are a Buffy fan, READ THIS BOOK!

3-0 out of 5 stars Faith's Background
I have been a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan since the original bad movie was released.

4-0 out of 5 stars Adventurous Fantasy Chock Full of Fun Clockwork Imagery
I'll admit it...the cover is what first drew me to this book. I liked the glowing clock hands and the fog with the creepy things standing in it. Then I flipped it over and read that the main character, Arthur Penhaligon, was supposed to die, yet he didn't. Instantly, I was intrigued.
5-0 out of 5 stars Keys to the Kingdom: Mister Monday
Mister Monday is the first book of The Keys to the Kingdom by Garth Nix. Mister Monday is from the genre fantasy. Book 1 is about a twelve year old boy named Arthur Penhaligon who has asthma. He comes to own a small key that’s shaped like the minute hand of a clock. Strange things start to happen after he gets the key. Weird dog faced creatures from the Secondary Realms called Fetchers who were sent to retrieve the key by Mister Monday. When an unusual plague starts in his world, Arthur knows he’s the only one that can get the cure from the house that he can only see. This story is a very fascinating and you never want to put the book down. Garth Nix makes every chapter eventful and ends the chapter so that you want to keep reading what happens next. I really enjoyed this book because I it was adventurous and everything could turn out either way so you didn’t know how the book ends.Mister Mondayis a great book and I would highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent post-Potter selection
Garth Nix is usually the first author that I recommend when kids and teens ask me what to read once they've finished all the available Harry Potter books. Nix's prose is by no means a thing of wonder on its own, but his characters, his humor and his whimscal worldbuilding make up for this fact. Highly recommended, especially for the younger set, and any adults who enjoy a little Through The Looking Glass style whimsey. ... Read more

It's fairly light-reading while still being informative on Edward Stratemeyer (the force behind the book series syndicate that brought us "The Bobsey Twins", "The Hardy Boys", "Nancy Drew", etc), on his daughter Harriet (who, along with her sister, took over the syndicate after his death), and on the feisty ghost writer behind the creation of Nancy Drew, Mildred Wirt Benson. The author presents the two women, as well as the fictional Nancy Drew, as feminist icons (sometimes, straining mightly against the facts). Still, a great deal of research seems to have gone into this book which makes the turbid wade thru feminist waters worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nancy Drew-- the inside story...by a sleuthing author....FUN
Amazingly fun reading. Melanie Rehak is very detailed and did her sleuthing research on Nancy Drew and the women (and men, YES) who created her. This is Rehak's first book -- but she's known in NY circles for her articles and reviews etc....she does a terrific job tracing Nancy Drew's history and role in popular culture from 1930 to today....80 million books later-- she (Nancy Drew) is a cultural phenom that seems to transcend age and the web. Just in time for summer reading -- did you know the new Nancy Drew movie starring Julie Roberts niece just wrapped and will be heading for theatres soon...The info on the STratemeyers including Ed the dime novel genius and his daughters such as Harriett is fascinating. Kudos to Mildred Wirt Benson-- originally from Ohio I believe....who ctually wrote unde rthe pen name of Carolyn Keene....from The Secret of the Old Clock to the latest incarnations such as Papercutz American Anime Nancy Drew Versions ([...]-- and yes I do know the guys there) you'll find a version and tale of Nancy Drew for everyone. Great gift. Don't worry the book looks old but that's the cover design...There's also a discussion guide available at [...] so you're reading club can add this to your collection....great cocktail party chatter or fun shower gift or Bridesmaid token....enjoy.....!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars An irresistible weave
Author Melanie Rehak does a superb job of weaving together the threads of social history, an enduring character, the women who created the character, the business that sold the character, the woman who ran the business, and the man who started it all. I relished reading all the "inside stories" of how the Nancy Drew and her series came to be. More startling but equally delightful was realizing how thoroughly--and positively--my adult outlook on life was influenced by all those girlhood hours spent in the company of the spunky girl sleuth. Bravo, Melanie Rehak. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Nothing
This book did absolutly nothing for me. Just a boring thing to write in, which I haven't.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Chicken Soup Warmed my Soul
Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul: Journal, was one of the most moving books I have read.It is directed towards adolescents, and deals with issues every adolescent girl faces. It's a blend of stories, quotes, poems, and spaces to write your thoughts. This book has many different sections such as: family, learning lessons, love and kindness, and tough stuff. My favorite section, however, is "loving yourself".This book gave me a chance to deal with issues and see that I am not the only girl whom faces such issues.Chicken Soup is a book that I am able to pick up and at any time if I need some inspiration, help, or reassurance.Other issues helpful to me were on drinking, self-esteem, eating disorders, and how to deal with my past.Another good part about this book is that a lot of it is compiled with texts written by teenage authors. There are spaces for friends to write about you, and spaces for you to express how you feel on certain issues.Chicken Soup allowed me to realize I was not the only girl who had experienced some of the feelings I did. After reading this book I knew I wasn't alone!I do highly recommend this book to any teenage girl.Adolescence is a hard time to get through, and many girls need inspiration. You do not have to read the book cover to cover; you can pick it up any time and read whatever section you desire.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing stories
Well, I don't know what the other reviewer was reading, but this was the best collection of stories in a Chicken Soup book yet. All of these stories are written by teens, and they talk about some of the grittiest stuff I've ever read. I mean, imagine being kidnapped by your own mother, or helping your friend through a suicidal breakdown. It doesn't get any more real than that. It's just great to know that there are other teens experiencing the same kinds of craziness I see every day. I take this book with me everywhere. I like the quizzes and other stuff too when I need a break from reading.

2-0 out of 5 stars Bad Soup
Like I've said I really like Chicken Soup Books.I love the storys. So when this book came out I could'nt wait to read it.
