3-0 out of 5 stars Would've been better as part of another book, had rushed feel to it
I wonder how quickly Melinda Metz cranked these books out? This one had a rushed feel to it. Near the end of Book #2 "The Wild One" Maria found a mysterious gold ring on the floor of the Mall and the gang learned that the owner of the UFO museum was in fact an alien, the alien responsible for rescuing them from the shipwreck.
5-0 out of 5 stars A good Sci-fi
This book is an excellent choice for people who enjoy scifi books with a little twist of comedy and love. It is a book everyone can understand and love. Once you get started, you won't want to put it down.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Fave out of the Roswell High Series
The Seeker is my personal favorite out of all ten of the Roswell High books. It focuses a lot more on Maria and Michael than any other of the books.Maria finds this glowing ring that helps her to "see" things.Little does she know that the ring is putting her and everyone else in danger.Find out what happens! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A Period Story from 1910
When I was a young boy I read the adventures of Tom Swift, Jr., the son of the Tom Swift in this series of books.I was accustomed to the science fiction stories in the new series, and I thought the original series would be similarly oriented. While this series of books incorporates technology, the level of technology is so archaic as to occasionally be humorous. Some terms are no longer used, and I suspect some technologies have changed so much from this series that I found it difficult to understand precisely what Tom was doing as he adjusted an engine.
4-0 out of 5 stars A very good story from 1910
In this sequel to Tom Swift and His Motor-Cycle, Tom purchases the motorboat used by the gang in their nefarious activities. In the midst of his competition with Andy Foger, Tom discovers that someone is tampering with his boat. Who is tampering with the boat, and what are they up to? As usual, Tom combines his love of things mechanical with his boyish energy and big heart to help his friends and bring the villains to justice.5-0 out of 5 stars Great gift for a young person . . . .
This fine facsimile of a classic 1910 boys' adventure book would make a beautiful gift.Young people up to about age 14 would love it. Tom discovers a secret tunnel dug by criminals to access Swift Enterprisesgrounds and steal his secrets. He soups up a motorboat to get double theoriginal speed. At one point, he fights for his life as he tries tooutrace a boat full of gunmen from a criminal gang. Tom is kidnapped andimprisoned, but escapes. The style is lucid, simple, and clean for youngreaders. The setting of 1910 adds an exotic quality to today's readers. These were the best-selling boys books of all time, with possible exceptionof Hardy Boys. Your son or grandson would love it.In a beautiful reprintof the original edition. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Simpsons Comics at its Best!
Out of my humongous Comic book library, this comic is one of my favorite. It's not like the other Simpsons Comics that I have. One thing is that this comic seems to have used water color which makes the pages seem more smoother and the pictures more realistic. The Comic contains a whole lot of other single Simpsons Comic Books into this one jampacked Comic. One of my favorite Comics here have to be "The Incredibly Stimulating Life of Sideshow Mel" which has no actual talking going on but it just shows Sideshow Mel going to the laundry and meeting up with an odd looking dog ...it's sort of hard to explain but it actually looks so boring that its amusing. This is a worthy addition to any Comic Book Collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars 'Lisa in Wordland' alone earns this 5 stars
As an avid Lisa Simpson fan, I have hunted high and low for Lisa Comics #1:Lisa in Wordland (ca. 1995). I have finally found it in this comic collection. Besides Lisa in Wordland (perhaps the most thought-provoking comic in the Simpsons comics series), I also enjoyed most of the other comics and Matt Groening articles in this volume. Two weak points: The one where Krusty gets the Hollywood job wasn't that funny, and the first comic had a plot IDENTICAL to a TV episode (the Old/New Springfield one). However, I doubt there will be a Lisa Comics #2 anytime soon (Lisa in Numberland would be a good idea, since I AM a math person.)

5-0 out of 5 stars If you like the Simpsons and comics, you'll like this book!
This book is great for any collection. It is fun to read, and the illustrations are so colorful and bright! It's just like watching the TV show, but your reading it! What more can I say? ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This series is rather juvenile
I grew up with Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys.I've read some of the original editions (which unfortunately reflect the sexism and overt racism of their pre-WWII origins), all but one or two of the re-writes from the 1960s and 1970s (which are better in those categories), and significant proportion of the 'new' versions.
4-0 out of 5 stars One cool book!
This Book was really great. I loved the action and the scam. It was great. I really think that people 10 and up would enjoy this book alot.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Book

4-0 out of 5 stars Jhaeman's Review
PALEO
1-0 out of 5 stars Bronto Buffy
There are some places no Slayer should ever go.Jurassic Park is one of them.Of all the Buffy books, this is the weakest by far.Aside from the odd juxtaposition of Buffy and dinosaurs, the book just plods along like a brontosaurus, itself.

4-0 out of 5 stars Buffy the Demon Dinosaur Slayer and Oz the Boy Wonder
Any Buffy the Vampire Slayer novel that offers up demon dinosaurs is already starting ahead of the game. After all, who would not be salivating at the very idea of the Slayer and the Scobbey gang taking on a trio of T. Rexes? But what really impressed me in Yvonne Navarro's novel was her characterization of Kevin Sanderson, a shy transfer student to Sunnydale High for has an avid interest in paleontology in general, and dinosaurs in particular. As presented in the first half of "Paleo," Kevin is arguably one of the best developed new characters to pop up in a Buffy book.Unfortunately, Kevin pretty much disappears from the last half of the novel as the dinosaurs take over and the action takes off.The other strength of "Paleo," giving Oz a prominent role second only to Buffy in the tale, actually cuts both ways.We all appreciate Navarro's attempt to put Oz into the spotlight, but, ironically, the more he talks, the less he sounds like Oz.Every time we get into Oz's mind, I feel like an alien presence and get worried Angel is going to show up and pop me one in the mouth (After you read "Paleo," you will get that one).As we know from the "Earshot" episode, Oz is as reticent in his internal monologue as he is in actual conversation.Clearly this problem is unique to the character rather than to Navarro as a writer and simply underline how difficult it is to open up Oz as a character.Overall, "Paleo" gets off to a great start, but abandoning Kevin's character in the second half and having the sub-plot regarding Alysa Bardrick trying to sign Dingoes Ate My Baby to a professional contract disappear until the epilogue takes away a lot of that momentum. However, as the epilogue clearly proves, the person Oz works really well with is Angel.Navarro's scenes featuring Oz and Angel together click throughout the book and definitely seems worth pursuing, if not in Sunnydale, then in L.A. ... the gang have stranded alex on max, isabel, and michel's home planet. dupris is nowhere to be found. my what is the crew going to do. max tries to get help from the consciousness but most of them are afraid of alex and the other half want to kill him. they are really of no help. the gang comes together beautifully to try and get him back. this one is suspenseful and thrilling. ithink the only one that i read that is better would probaly be number 2 or 9. this is a definite must read.

3-0 out of 5 stars Maybe the most violent book in the series
Starts off right where #8 left us with Kyle confronting the gang and Michael's brother trevor appearing to join up with the evil alien Dupris.
5-0 out of 5 stars a must read
oh this a great one. max is being drawn deeper and deeper inot the consciosness. while this is going on, isabel starts feeling sick like her bones are crumbling. after a few days of this she realizes that she is going through her akino. after seeing what joining the conscious has done to max, she swears that she will die first rather than join. she enlists michael's aid and he swears that he will stand by her to the bitter end if need be. he is a little weary himself considering that he will probably be next and he thinks(it is either become like a zombie like max or die) what a dilenema. how this one ends is well written and well thought out. i only hope that a talented writer like ms. metz would do the roswell groupies out here a favor and write some more novels.(how are you with buffy novel) just joking of course.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wowed me again!
At this point, if you have bought and read every Roswell High book so far,I hardly have to say what I thought!I Love them all! Melinda Metz is thecoolect writer! The characters are awsome, as is the plot, setting, i loveit all.She gets 5 stars everytime! ... Read more

This book basically is for finding something for elementary aged children to do. The games are desribed in ways relating to the show, but many are just actually Simpson related twists of old games. This book faetures manycard games, scientific tricks, optical illusions, and many other thingsthat can be done inside the house. This book also features some greatpuzzles, and a area with children related recipes.Buy this book to keepyour children entertained, I'm sure they'll find much of the book useful.

5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!!!
This book is one of the most amazing books i've ever read. it's got a great depth to it and explain in a discreet way about sociology and friendships. It's a page turner.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Book I've Ever Read!!!
This book is defianitely the best book out of all the Night World books, even though each of them are excellent in their own way! I think its just the way that Jez and Morgead's love is so pure and brilliant! Also Jez is so powerful! But Jez and Morgead are so different and them being together could never work, if Morgead knew her secret, that makes me never want to put the book down!

I've been a fan of L.J. Smith's since I first read "Chosen" six years ago.I've read all of her books, including her little known play on the King Authur myth that involves the Fey. I've read all of her trilogies, and the NightWorld books at least twice a piece.

This book rocks! If you are a Fear Street fan like me, READ THIS! NOW! R.L. Stine is a genius. The first two were awesome....And he outdid himself again! I write books for my 6th grade classmates and he inspires me so! Thanks R.L. Stine, if I ever meet you, I'll treat you to saganaki. ;)

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is one of the best!!!
When I read the first part (the first horror) I was really scared. And I don't like to admit those things, so you can believe me. This and the other two books are about a house which better never should have been build. The house was build over a cemetery of the victims of the Fear Family. Insiders knew what sort of people the Fears where and why it's logical that the house is doomed. In 20 years nobody lived there but then the Frasiers (part one) and Cally Frasier has to stay in the house - as a ghost.

2-0 out of 5 stars not so great...
I am a big fan of fear street books, and I have about 30 at home. This book and The Dare are my two least favorites. Maybe it's just because I've been reading these for so long, but I knew who the killer was on the first couple pages. It's so obvious that it's jealousy. My favorites are Silent Night, All Night Party, Sunburn, and the New Year's Party. Go get one of those instead.

4-0 out of 5 stars Found this book and was amazed by the cover!
This is one of the fear street books that I've been looking for for a long time.I finally found it at my local library and went nuts just thinking about what RL Stine did in this story to make it scary. Anyway, it's about a girl named Selena who finds a love of acting at her highschool and is always the star of the plays there. After one of the plays, she finds a bouquet of dead roses in her locker. She is "haunted" by a secret admirer who leaves behind a sticker of the sun on every one of his notes. No, I'm not going to give it all away, but I will tell you that the ending really surprised me.If you love RL Stine as much as I do, and you know how he likes surprises, you should find this book and be sure to think about it as you read.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS BOOK !!!!! A MASTERPIECE!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Silent Night
Book Review
5-0 out of 5 stars A guilty pleasure...
I read this book for the first time about ten years ago and absolutely loved it! In elementary and middle school, I was an R.L. Stine fanatic. I have read many of his books, and to this day, the "Silent Night" trilogy is my favorite--this one coming in first. I'm 21 years old now and still love this book... During the summer or weekends, I often find myself picking this book up and have probably read it about 15 times now. It's kind of just a comforting (guilty) pleasure that takes me back to my childhood... The story is actually really creative and it's even better to me now because it was written so long ago that the fashions described in the story (and other R.L books) are laugh-out-loud funny. Tapered jeans, "diamond-like studs" in the guys' ears, the whole bit. It's just great! Also, in November and December, it's great to get in the holiday mood! Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is such a good one!

3-0 out of 5 stars not up to my expectations...
I was really looking forward to this book, but now I'm kinda mad that I actually bought the book.It wasn't bad or anything, but it just wasn't what I was expecting.I was really hoping for romance. But there was hardly any.
5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant!
I just finished this book yesturday, and I am searching for more. It was my second Lurlene Mcdaniel book, and all I can say is that this may be the best book I have ever read. I could not put the book down. The story just draws you in and I think most people can relate to the story in one area or another. WHen I put the book down I cried, and if it can touch me like that, I think it can touch the millions of people who will, or have, read it. I just fell in love with it, and now I am rereading it. It was just absolutly brilliant.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hot!!!
This book is scary and funny together. Young Amy visits her Aunt Angie in Shadysie, all innocent. But by the end of the novel she really grows up. I'm glad this book featured pre-teen versions of Hannah and Julia (befor they killed each other)!!! Julia, was pretty much Amy's sidekick. I love how this book had a classice HAUNTED HOUSE scenerio. Little by little Amy finds out her Aunt Angie is evil, and wants Amy's stay to be "permanent"!! You'll have to read to find out!

4-0 out of 5 stars You will never be allowed to leave.
When Amy Pierce's father is injured at war, her mother is off to help him, while Amy will be staying at her cousin Angelica Fear's house. However, Amy soon begins to learn that behind all of Angelia's riches and beauty, there is terror. Many people are afraid of her, and some rumors say that Angelia practices dark magic and uses it to kill.

4-0 out of 5 stars Crossings is enjoyable
I enjoyed Crossings for the most part. It could be a little slow at some parts and the story was pretty standard sci fi but the relationships - especially Buffy and Dawn's relationship after their mom's death - were explored well. I would recommened this to someone who has a few hours to relax and wants a quick read.

5-0 out of 5 stars FUNNY, ENTERTAINING
Beware video game buffs! The trouble starts when gamers get snared in the web of the demon Dredfahl, who usurps their bodies for his minions and sends their souls to a video game dimension, where they have to capture enough bones to bring forth the master demon, Torqualmar. The victims don't realize that the video game dimension is real, and when they die in it, they are truly dead.

3-0 out of 5 stars "Yeah, I'm a Freak Like You!"
Set in season one of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," author John Vornholt brings two new elements to Sunnydale - a travelling carnival and a pack of strange coyotes. Buffy, Xander and Willow are excited about the presence of a carnival to finish off the summer and soon Xander and Willow are hooked up with two exotic carnies, Rose and Lonnie. Buffy however, is distracted by the presence of a pack of coyotes roaming through the streets of Sunnydale. Although Willow insists that this is a normal occurrence, Buffy isn't so sure, especially when she sees the coyotes hanging around the grave of an old Western cowboy entertainer named Spurs Hardaway.
4-0 out of 5 stars The Skinwalkers Come to Sunnydale
COYOTE MOON by John Vornholt is the third Buffy The Vampire Slayer book and the second all-new adventure.Like the previous volumes this was a very well-done book.I don't know if the series has a better bible than others but so far all of the characters act just as they would be expected to on the show.5-0 out of 5 stars Tony Hillerman lite
I savored this book a little longer than the previous 2. I loved the scene where Willow was playing poker. This book is Tony Hillerman lite. If you've read any of his mysteries, you'll know what I mean. ... Read more
