Solid foundation for the MCAT
Ek bio - this is the STUFF!! I pwned the BS MCAT by reading this book 3 times and difficult topics 2-3 more times. Was able to teach myself microbiology and human physiology with this book. you don't need advance classes like genetics, cell bio, physiology, microbiology, biochemistry etc.
Manageable study program
After being away from college for 10 years, I have found the MCAT review very comprehensive and manageable.The subjects are divided into separate books, which makes them very portable.The diagrams are fantastic, and the authors' sidenotes clarify what you need to know outright versus what's background info.If you need further help, there are Examcrackers resources for that too, such as flashcards and extra questions for each subject, so you don't have to pay for what you don't need.It is somewhat tailored for those with strong science skills, and weak verbal--the Verbal Reasoning book really walks you through the basics.Since that is my strong suit, I don't need my hand held for that, while I do for Physics, so I guess my only complaint would be that they assume you're a science wizard and verbal dummy, so those of us with the opposite skills don't get the same benefit of that stereotype.I know, probably most medical students fit that mold, but that doesn't mean those of us who have to work a tad harder don't belong in the profession--once you know it, you know it.There's room for all types, as well as a need!Good program overall, I'm very pleased, and would recommend to anyone.

Exceptional Book and a lot of material
This book is worth the price! It gives you a lot of material to work with. I studied these the second time I took the MCAT for a period of 4-5 weeks. After which I took my old Princeton exams, I aced them without even touching my old Princeton notes. While admissionsmystery .combook is great/insightful for AMCAS application strategy, I think these set of books are great for the MCAT. ... Read more

The Official SAT study Guide
Any student preparing to take the SAT should not go with out this book. The Book provides accurate practice test created by the Test makers (ETS). But don't count on this book to give you excellent review. Review for the SAT is very brief. also this book is no good without the solutions manual which you could buy on amazon. so without the soulutions manual you won't be doing anything but just taking the practice test and not knowing where you went wrong. anyways good luck!

A must-have for your SAT prep; but no accurate diagnostic tools
Official materials are always the most important for the SAT, and this is currently the only source available for authentic SAT questions. The questions and essay topics contained in this book give a nice overview of what an SAT-taker will see on test day, so it would be wise to complete and review as many questions as you can in this book.

A New Hope: Cliffs AP Biology
This has to do be one of the best reviewbooks, if not the best, for the AP Biology Exam.Although I worked very hard throughout the entire year, I needed a good review a couple weeks before the AP.All of my classmates had this book, and they loved it?Well, it is an excellent summary of all of the things learned in AP Bio.It presents only the most important terms, concepts, people, and experiments.It follows the structure of the Campbell Biology books.In essence, its information matches exactly what is in all of these books.It condenses and simplifies all topics and makes them comprehensible to even the lay reader.Its summaries last for around 200 pages.After that, it moves onto the twelve required AP experiments and explains them in short yet precise paragraphs.This really helps, especially if you have not done all of the experiments throughout the year.In the end, it provides practice test questions and their answers and explains the answers thoroughly.I forgot: there are practice questions at the end of each chapter to check-up on your comprehension.In the end, I read the Cliffs AP from beginning to end, looked over our handouts, read all my class notes, took practice APs, went over all of the experiments, and looked over key areas in my textbook.It paid off in the end: I got a 5.Because of this book, I had no doubt in my mind what I would get on the AP exam.Go in peace, my brothers and sisters.

BEST BOOK FOR PREPARING FOR THE AP BIOLOGY TEST!
I did not learn anything in my AP Biology class because my teacher was... not that great. Three weeks before the exam, I started studying. This book was the most helpful. It has great preparation questions and practice essays. It gives just the right amount of information needed to ace the test...nothing more, nothing less. Reading this book was the main reason I got a 5 on the exam. I would also recommend reading the barron's ap biology book along with this one and maybe another book for extra practice questions. That's all you need to ace this test. Good luck!

I feel it worth buying
Well,I'm a foreign student preparing for the SAT test. In front of so many choices of SAT books I got my impression from the pretty girl on the cover. And after buying it I found this book worth my attention,too. Not only was it full of knowledge and skills,but also the humourous words I read made it easier for me to take SAT practice. I think you will not regret purchasing it.

Great for practice tests, but the rest of the stuff is nothing new.
I bought this book along with the ACT for Dummies, and I only use this book for the practice tests. Whether you want to improve your score or just get a feel for the test, this book's 3 practice tests can't be beat. After all, they are the real ACT tests.
An Essential ACT Prep Tool
I purchased this book to prepare for the ACT.It familiarizes you with exactly what you need for the test.It's excellent for long-term preparation, but you can even use it in a crunch.I flipped through some of the pages the night before I took the ACT and had never opened up the book before, read through some things, and I ended up getting a perfect composite score of 36. You don't need any resource other than this one in preparing for the ACT.

Great, but.......
This book is fantastic; however, I got confused about the book page number. The description says it has 944 pages, but it just has 924. And I don't like the last PSAT part. I think this book should only contain SAT practice tests only. And it wastes a lot of marginal room. This edition doesn't changed a little, if any. Princeton Review should improve a little when release a new edition, not just change the cover. ... Read more

Very difficult questions
Passages are easier to read than Princeton Review and AAMC tests.The wording of the questions is not as convoluted as the AAMC tests.However, the questions are very difficult to answer.Often times there is not enough information in the passage to correctly answer the questions, and it seems like there could be information to support more than one answer choice.While it's true that questions on AAMC practice MCATs 7,8,9 have many attractive 'trap' answer choices, this book takes that to the extreme.Therefore, I don't know if this is an accurate representation of the verbal section.

Decent Practice, but Far from Perfect
Given the usually high profiled stuff from ExamKrackers, this book was for me a disappointment. Let me just say that if you want to score high on verbal, more practice is a must, therefore it's logical to get this book. However, if you are looking for a very clean practice, this book doesn't deliver. While i recognize that verbal section on the MCAT can easily allude to personal bias and subjective opinions, on the actual MCAT the 'correct' answer should be easily justified from the 'inccorect' answers. Around a little over 2/3 of the questions in this book fit that description, everything else is full of ambiguous and unsupported answers, many passages tho interesting are abstract and difficult to read. This can get extremely frustrating if you are expecting to see concrete improvements. However, by dealing with these flaws, and sometimes overly difficult (downright impossible or simply incorrect) questions, you might still gain something that will give u an extra edge on the actual MCAT, which could be sufficently more clear and precise given that it is the verbal section.

Verbal Reasoning is not easy, GET THIS!!
As hard as you'll work on preparation for this exam- your preparation for the Verbal Reasoning section will be the most important. Most people complain about this section. I was included, until I took studying for it head on. I needed all the practice I could get and this book gave me 2 passages a day for 50 days. I timed myself (18 min total, 9 minutes a passage for the two) and corrected it that day. It increased my speed and ability. The guys that write these Exam Krackers books only want you to do well. Law Enforcement Exam
I ordered this book to brush up on some basic math that I haven't used in many years. I got it in order to do better on my law enforcement exam. This book covered everything that I needed. It was just right! It walks through the basics and works one up to more complex problems. It includes clear explanations on how to solve the problem and then provides a practice test for each area covered. It even offers some tricks to keep in mind when encountering certain problems. Perfect for a refresher!

Very Low level book
I bought this with hope to get my brain used to solving complicated problems quickly. However, the quality of excercises in this book is very very low. I could have made up any of the excercises in the book. Unsatisfied, I returned it in 2 days. Do not buy it if you are very good or even avarage at math. This will not help you.

One of the best College Guides
The Fiske guide doesn't cover all the colleges in the US, only about 300 of the 2200+. However, these 300 are probably the ones most people find interesting. Certainly all the big name schools are here. All of the most selective colleges are included. Fairly recently they have started including schools from England and Canada which offer excellent educations with a foreign hint at a very low price. In fact, the University of Aberdeen (Scotland) (founded in 1495 - talk about tradition) is considered the best value of the colleges.
A great read, a pointless investment
The Fiske Guide to Colleges is notorious for not changing its text much from year to year, but it should be known for other things as well.
Great Value, Great Information, Great Book
A really good book, I decided to hold off and instead of buying the 2006 version, I purchased the 2007 version. I don't know if there is a large difference in the information in each one, but I am glad I purchased this one. This book helped me select colleges I wouldn't have even considered or heard of. The information given is thorough and supposedly accurate, but the book gives you a thorough overview of each colleges breakdown from the ratio of males to females to the median SAT and ACT score. Each college has 2-5 pageswritten about it, of specific information about the nearby towns to the academic challenge and the social aspect of the college. A Great Perspective
I first bought this book 1.5 years ago when I was researching colleges for my oldest son.It changed the way I looked at selecting colleges from my prior misconceptions that "bigger is better" (like large state schools) and "it has to have a well-known name to be any good."Pope succeeded in convincing me that not only are there invaluable advantages to smaller-size schools but that there is definitely something to be said for "liberal arts & science" institutions that offer a well-rounded curriculum.I was able to relax then because my son had no idea what he wanted to pursue.As a result of reading the book, my son is now attending Cornell College in Iowa where he is getting a wonderful education in small classes with caring instructors and an administration that "took me by the hand," upon his initial arrival as a freshman, & addressed all my fears and concerns about leaving my son with a bunch of strangers 4 hours away.Because the book includes little quantitative information (%'s of in- vs out-of-staters, tuition costs, % of students who graduate/return sophomore year/go to graduate school, etc.) you will need to supplement this book with another, such as the Fiske guide, to give you a basis of comparison across schools.Even if you don't select any of the schools mentioned, it is worth a read if for nothing else other than a refreshing perspective.

Wish I had known that the book focused on schools on the east coast, in the midwest, and in the southeast.No California schools are listed.

Lots of information to consider and is thought provoking
I have a daughter ready to apply to colleges this fall and have found this book very helpful in planning and sorting through the myriad of information out there.

4.5 Stars... One of the best guides to colleges
The Princetown Review publishes a number of college search-related books, including the "Complete Book of Colleges" and this one. This book is essentially a distilled version of the "Complete Book", and frankly a lot more useful.
Our family's favorite college guide
This is the best college guide for students with SAT scores above 1100. I don't reccomend it for students will lower scores because it concentrates on schools that expect a higher SAT.

One of two great books for stressed out parents
As parents who have seen many of our friends completely lose perspective as their kids apply to college, my wife and decided that we would not go down that road when our time came. Forget all the books that imply they will get your child into a "brand name" school. It's about discovering together a place where they can grow, and strenghtening your relationshipas you launch them toward their future. In the name of sanity, I recommend this book (and also a great one our own pediatrician recommended, "Getting In Without Freaking Out.") Stop hovering -- start helping your kids by not imposing your agenda.

Jordan and Jon's voice will be echoing in your head
The Examkrackers series is absolutely wonderful, and I think the Audio Osmosis really helps to reinforce concepts.It should be utilised as a supplement to TPR, Kaplan or EK books.

extra help for mcat prep
This seems like a good way to review. I have taken the mcat once (w/o audio osmosis) and am studying to take it again. So far, I've listened to the discs once through, and I think that being able to hear concepts while at work or on the train to/from work will help cement them in addition to reading, reviewing, and taking practice tests. DO NOT think you'll ace the mcat w/o practice tests, but it's an amusing set of discs with some good sound effects, asides, and mnemonics to help commit concepts to memory. I'm pretty confident it should help.

It Has Worked So Far....
While I am only a high school Sophmore, and I don't have a *real* job, this book has been very helpful in deciding what to shoot for doing. I've heard people call this book too vague, but they can't tell you exactly what to do; it doesn't work that way. Once you get through the personality quiz portion, the author gives a somewhat detailed description of your specific personality type (I for example am and ENFP) and throws in suggestions in the description and also give a modest list of other possibilities. I'll admit it was a bit vauger than I had hoped but it gives you plenty of room to move around and a great place to start.
Excellent Book
This book has helped me choose a drastic career change I was almost afraid to reach for ten years ago.Since then, I've bought the book numerous times as gifts for friends who then share it with others.It's simple to use and relevant each time I go back to it.Whether you are looking for a career change or to better understand how to position yourself where you are, this book is extremely helpful in helping you realize your strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes more clearly and based on that, how to find a fit in almost every situation.The author's other books are insightful too for relationships and advising your children.

Perhaps I had overly high expectations...
While I am aware that no career book is going to be a holy grail, this one in particular seemed rather useless. "You are an INFP. You feel fulfilled by helping people, so go find a job where you can do that" was pretty much the extent of the advice it offered. ... Read more

3 Stars becuz ull get a 3 on the Ap exam
I think they tried really hard to make this an overall and basic review, and not "bog you down" as they say, with information.
A mediocre book.
I used this book in studying for the AP US History exam.It really did not cover everything I needed to know for the exam, so I probably got a 3 or 4 on it.Overall, I guess I would say that the review in the book was too basic.The multiple choice practice exams were too easy.Also, my teacher told us that the College Board was creating more and more DBQs that were based on culture (and the Exam's DBQ this year was about women's culture from the post-American Revolution to the beginning of the Civil War), but this book didn't really reflect that change with its practice and test DBQs.

This book was nice, but didn't give me the details I wanted.This would make for a good review if you're reading along side another history textbook, but this book alone will not suffice only on the AP exams.I also think the quizzes weren't very realistic, they were often too easy, and nothing like the questions on the actual AP exam ... Pretty good
i took the sat ii math level 2.i really didnt study too hard until like 2 weeks before the test.i only used this book and i still managed to crack 700.this book covers more info than that is actually on the test.the strategies that it gives are very helpful and if you just read through and do the examples, i am pretty sure that you could crack 700.i was only a sophomore when i took the test and i didnt even take calculus yet, so i must say, this book was sooo helpful!

A good review book.
Well, I just got back my Math 1 score from the June administration of the SAT Subject tests.I got a 730, which I think is a result of using this great book.It is a little unorganized, but everything you need is there if you'll read the entire book.Unlike other Princeton review books that cover two levels of tests (like the AP Calc AB & BC book), this one actually divides well between Level 1 and Level 2 materials.Overall, it had a great review of the material, with explanations of how to do the practice problems and not just the answers.The practice tests were more difficult than the actual exam.I got a 650 on one and a 660 on the second one, despite the fact I got a 730 on the real SAT test.It's much better than the Sparknotes Math 1 book, which I also used to review.I basically got 800s on their tests because you could recognize how to do all the problems from practice problems in the book.One test didn't vary much from the next.But that's not the case with the Princeton Review book, because you cannot really recognize the problems as familiar.It's overall a great book.

The book is pretty good, the test are harder than the actual. That is actually good for practice. Using this book will increase your scores.

THIS BOOK IS AN INVESTMENT
i do not usually go crazy for the cracking the AP series but this one is by far the gold standard. Covers all the material concisely, relevant problems, very user friendly. If you are committed enough to take the AP Chem give yourself the best possible advantage and get this book. I did not find one error which is incredibly rare.

Best AP Chem review book available!
I owned or perused several different review books for the AP Chemistry Exam, but this was certainly the best. I've never seen an AP book as perfectly on-target as this one. Certain books (like Barron's AP Chem) contain too much information where it actually impedes your preparation, whereas others contain too little (which Princeton Review sometimes tends to do). But this book gets the combination just right. It reviews ALL of the necessary facts and concepts you need to know, and excludes everything you don't need to know. Trust me when I say that this book is on the money. And oh, I got a 5.

This book = key to getting a 5 on the AP test
I am very pleased with this book. Although there are a few typos, it gets the point out very effectively. I used it to do ALL of my studying for the AP test (along with actual AP practice tests) and got a 5!!!Just make sure you go through the free response questionsin each section, even if u dont do the multiple choice. ... Very good in some aspects but yet very bad in others
First off, this book offers one of the most wide ranged practice tests available for the SAT. This extensive amount of practice allows for a user to sufficiently prepare for the SAT; however, what makes this book so bad is that most of the tests that are given are hold KAPLAN tests. If u have bought 2005 or 2006 SAT Books from KAPLAN ud find the exact same problems and tests. Although most of the tests are the ame, the overall review for english and math is by far one of the best out there next to Princeton Review and Barrons. I recommend this book if u have never purchased a KAPLAN SAT book before or just 1, but if you have purchased a recent SAT book by KAPLAN i would ABSOLUTELY not recommend this book unless you want some of the same practice tests ... Better for tutoring than the AP Test
i go through calculus books the way some people go through Kleenex so i'll just say this:if you are needing review or find your calculus text book verbose or maybe just some extra help in a lower level calc class purchse this one.
Dissapointed
I bought princeton U.S. history ap and calculus Ap this year.
This book's not so awesome. . .
Well, I used this book in preparation for my Calculus AB exam.Some of this text's features bothered me when I was studying.For one, the book wasn't well organized, as there was no clear distinction between what was AB material and what was solely BC material.You can sort of figure that out for yourself, however, if you know what's tested pretty well.Also, I disliked the problems that were like, "Try it on your own.".There are too many problems that get redundant pretty quickly.If you can do one, you can do several of them.Also, for the few problems that you cannot work out, there is no guide in the back that tells you step-by-step how to do them.There is only an answer key in the back.Also, the practice tests are a bit too easy.

need more practice!!!
this book had some good ideas, but some, like its methods for taking the writing and reading sections were silly. very silly. also, it definately didnot provide enough practice problems/tests to actually practice using the techniques to ace the act. if i could go back in the past, i definately wouldn't buy this book again. i think from now on, i'll stick with kaplan.

Thorough review for the ACT
The Practice tests are a little bit harder than the real ACT tests. The review material is very helpful, in-depth, and easy-to-understand. This book improved my score by 6 points. DONT buy this version with the CD because the software is horrible and the images on the practice tests are distorted.
