The book Cut is a good book to read if you are going threw the same as Callie the main Character. Callies way of dealing with things going in her life but cutting herself. I thought that cut was an extremly good book. I felt like i could connect to what Callie was going threw.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cut
The book Cut is good for anyone who likes books about over coming problems. If you like other books by Patricia McCormick like my brother's keeper, Cut is right for you. In my opinion this book was dry and boring in many places. But there were some parts, you had to keep reading.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great ending!!!!!!!!!
This book was absouluely wonderful and a great ending!!!!!!!! What else can I say??? I loved it! READ IT

5-0 out of 5 stars A Fitting End!
As I read this, I could tell this was an entirely different chapter in the Baudelaire's lives than we'd previously been exposed to. Lemony Snicket made it rather clear that the questions we wanted answered wouldn't be answered and it would do no good to answer them. Though slightly disappointing, I think we're better off for it. This book drives the message of the entire series home, and is in so many ways an allegory to what we experience every day. I thought this book was more emotional and better written than all of the other books combined, and was pleased with the couple of things we DID find out, even though there are a million other questions left unanswered. To answer these questions would be to ruin this series and the entire point of these books, and though we thirst for answers, the truth is that answers to these questions would be disappointing and more mysterious than what we're left with.
5-0 out of 5 stars The perfect ending to this series

5-0 out of 5 stars The first is still the best!
Don't let the name fool you, this is not a farm animal book in any aspect. This is a legend, really! I first read this book in middle school, while all the other kids were reading Goosebump-like books I was delving into this funny, bold and often sad treasure.
5-0 out of 5 stars a story well put
the pigman... paul zindel, in all his books, most especially this one, gives us a charming, more sophisticated depiction of teenage life. he doesnt categorize his characters, good, bad, spoiled, ugly, beautiful. john isnt just "the rebel teen", every one of his actions, and the the things his characters says, are justified, and if not justified, explained. meaning, theres a story behind each character, so that then you know " well thats why they did what they did". or, "thats definately something she'd say". john and lorraine think, and have consciences. and romance is lightly laid over them. all in all... its awesome.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Pigman by zach
This books title is The Pigman by Paul Zindel. In the beginning Lorraine and John, two high school students, tell about themselves and the people around them. They also tell about the things they like to do such as make prank phone calls and hang around the cemetery with friends and drink. This book is about how the Pigman makes them realize that people they like will not always be around. In one part they are looking around the Pigman's house and they find the Pigman's wife's funeral bill.

5-0 out of 5 stars AUTHOR D.J. MacHALE DOES IT AGAIN WITH PENDRAGON BOOK 7
I discovered the Pendragon book series when I was at Middle School, and just looking at the cover of book 1 The Merchant of Death, I became very interested in them. I read the first book when I was fourteen-years old, and I instantly fell in love with them. The whole storyline about a teenage kid writing and sending journals to his best friends describing his incredible and frightening adventure through space and time is very interesting, and the characters are well defined and have great dialouge and characteristics. So far each book has fascinated me, and I've never once been disappointed by any one of them.
5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!
I have been reading this series for a long time and every book has been my favorite. From the first book of this series to this last one, they are all very amazing books. The latest book, The Quillan Games, has a very interesting way of captivating the reader. There is action in every page of the book, and you never know what is going to happen next. Just when you think that you have figured things out, D.J. MacHale will throw in a twist that makes the reader want to read on to find out more. D.J. MacHale also has a way of revealing part of the truth about the whole series in every book, to allow the reader to try and figure out the truth and to think not only about that one book, but how to connect all the events in the whole series. The newest book includes a major breakthrough in that truth and creates you to want to read for hours on end. This is probably the most outstanding book I have ever read because of the way it enthralls the reader by the wonderful way that it is written. I recommend this book to all readers and I promise that they will love it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A suprising twist!
When the reader starts Chapter 1, they think this is going to be another, long, dull pirate ship with lame "adventures." (Trust me, that is what I thought)
5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Delightful!!
I first heard about this book when my son was in 3rd grade back in 1994 and the teacher was reading it aloud to the class. I then, this year (2006) remembered it and took it out of the library. I was mesmerized by the story (even as an adult) because I am a sailor! I could just imagine Charlotte donning her sailor's garb and climbing the rigging!I love how she started out prim and proper, then she became Captain of the ship! I too am a Captain, and this story (although fiction) is a great role model for young girls today. I especially loved the ending where she leaves her stuffy life behind, arrives at the dock and the boat "sails with the morning tide". I imagined the boat pulling out of port at first light and watching the sun rise over the horizon. The writing is so vivid, and the story is so alive, that I could almost smell the salt air!I loved the book!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Story
I loved this book because it drew you into the 19th century lifestyle at sea.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Effort by a Constantly Evolving Author
Destiny is defined as "an event (or a course of events) that will inevitably happen in the future," and Eric Jerome Dickey's novel Chasing Destiny embodies this definition and carries it forth in a series of intertwined events that alter the course of the lives of all of the characters. It is brilliant, actually, and as others have written, once I got caught up in the story, I literally could not put the book down.
4-0 out of 5 stars My favorite Dickey book so far!
CHASING DESTINY by Eric Jerome Dickey
5-0 out of 5 stars At his best!!
I love, love, loved this book. After being disappointed by some novels I had been reading over the past few months, I looked forward to this being my end of summer, back to school read before I had to delve back into poetry of the African Diaspora, and all that hard stuff, lol. This book was so good I read it in one day, I couldn't tear myself away from the drama that was unfolding between Carmen, Billie, and Destiny.I love the way Dickey always intertwines all his characters, so that when you find out your jaw is dropping.Dickey captures relationships for what they really are; hard, confusing, and confusing parts of our life that we can't avoid. And he makes you understand why they happen like that, and thats what I love about him.Dickey also, almost always, has the struggling male character in his novels, such as Drive me Crazy, Liars Game, etc., and yet you find sympathy in their struggle, and relatablity.I recommend this book to any fan of EJD and anyone who is looking for a good read. Being the book junkie that I am for African American fiction, I wouldn't steer you wrong! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The 10 star book "Tears ofa Tiger"
This book is amazing. It really gets you to think about a lot of things. You always say well that will never happen to me, but niether did Andy. It is a story that so many kids can relate to . Sharon Draper really out did herself in this book. This is the kind of book i could read over and over and over and never get tired of reading it. It really touched me in a special place and thought me that tomorrow is not promised and never take what you have or the people in your life for granted. I give this book 10 stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars beyond amazing.
words cant explain how good this book was. i had to read it for a school thing and i read it in an hour it was so good. and so meaningful. its one of the reasons i will never drink. im fourteen and all my friends do but i dont plan on drinking ever, and defiantly not getting drunk. i was balling my eyes out. crying SO hard over this book.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Read for Middle School children
This book deals very well with controversial topics such as drunk driving and suicide. Draper tells the story in a matter of fact manner that students will read and learn from. As a teacher of middle school children, I found this book very helpful and moving and well researched. Though somewhat predictable and heavyhanded, the story achieves it purpose and would be welcome in any classroom library. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Welcome to the Warren
This book was so deep and descriptive, that many people told me a kid my age wouldn't be able to understand it. But Watership Down was a book that was just my taste, creative, animal-associated, and filled with the characters that make fairy tales seem boring. I couldn't have loved it more.

2-0 out of 5 stars Confusion
I never quite understood why everyone seemed to love this book so much. I read it, along with my entire grade, in seventh grade, and found the book to be annoying. I was especially annoyed by flawed characters, and a not very impressive writing style.
1-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed...
Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, by Mildred Taylor was a very disappointing book. There is no particular story; the book starts rising action here and there and down again here and there. There is no specific climax. Basically, it's like there's no story. What I also hated about this book was the ending and the fact that there was no moral in the story. The book was full of cliches from every chaper by chaper. Each chapter was too long( this is not a dumb complaint). Instead of just starting a new chapter, Taylor just skips a line to basically start a new chapter. I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense to you.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites
This is the first McCullers' book that I have read and it has becomeone of my favourites. It felt like a timeless story that could have been written only yesterday instead of in the 1930's. It also could have been written by a much older, experienced person instead of a young girl of 23 years. It is a gentle, sad story that might have been typical of small town life. It was very refreshing to feel submerged in the slow pace and emotion of life in a long gone era. The story touched me in an unexpected way, and I know I will long remember the characters and their individual stories.
4-0 out of 5 stars Lonely, dark, tragic and strange
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter is a strange book. It is classic Southern Gothic, and it is with a heavy heart that you read on, page after page.
2-0 out of 5 stars Too boring...
I love to read as much as any other bookworm, and normally I force myself to go all the way to the end. This was one of those books I had to put down. And being that it's deemed 'classic' and 'brilliant' made me feel somewhat dumb at first when I dropped it, but after I thought about it, I don't think that putting it down was a 'dumb' thing to do. It was so boring, I'd rather watch bread mold. Nothing happened, the characters were bland, and I found myself looking at the page numbers, making sure I read my twenty pages a night before bed. After putting this down, I cleansed my palette with Margaret Atwood (also brilliant, but with good, interesting storylines and characters). I don't think I'll be picking up another McCullers book. Who cares if a twenty-three year old wrote it? Does it make it 'genius'? Christopher Paolini wrote Eragon at fifteen, and that was [...], yet he's also being lauded as a 'wunderkid', but that's a story for another day. This book would have been genius if it had a point, but I didn't think it did. ... Read more

I've decided he's too good and too prolific for me to write a brand new review every single time I read one of his books. This book is a good follow-up to the other Bloody Jack books. It's not the most rollicking tale of the bunch, but gives readers a more subtle adventure.Although I found the the main body of the book a tad tedious, I still enjoyed it as a whole.Jacky's colorful cahracter carries the story along when it starts to drag, as do the personalities of the other girls. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Jacky tells stories of her life on the streets in London. It gives you a better glimpse at her past and how far she has come from the little beggar of her childhood.I will warn you though, the ending is a killer cliff-hanger.

5-0 out of 5 stars Once again, Jacky Faber kicks pirate booty...
I am a huge fan of the Jacky Faber series -- just like everyone else who has discovered these awesome books by L.A. Meyer. I've read every one of Meyer's previous books, and loved all of them. Each time, I figured there was absolutely no way he could top the previous one. And each time, I'm stunned to find that he has. 'In the Belly of the Bloodhound' is no different. Once again, Meyer has written a heck of a story that's even better than his last. Like all the others, 'In the Belly of the Bloodhound' was an incredibly fast read -- a book that I could not put down. It's entertaining and definitely won't put you to sleep like some other 'teen' books assigned in school. I have no doubt that this book is headed for a blockbuster movie, once Hollywood discovers Jacky Faber. I'm sure actresses will be lining up to play her. In the meantime, I'm hoping L.A. Meyer is back home writing his next pirate tale. Aye, Cap'n, he's good as gold.
5-0 out of 5 stars Waiting for No. 5...
Being that there are so many enthusiastic reviews already submitted with which I wholeheartedly agree, all I will add is that Meyer better hurry up with number 5 or I'm gonna die in suspense!Bravo on another wild and imaginative misadvetnure of Jacky Faber, Mr. Meyer! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Alex Rider Saga Continues Well...
Other than Stormbreaker, this may be the next best Alex Rider adventure yet.In some ways the plot is predictable as all Alex Rider stories are - except for the ending surprise in Scorpia. The action is fast paced and is perfect for a teenage boy reader. Girls who enjoy spy stories will like it too. It is hard to put the book down.

5-0 out of 5 stars Alex Rider

(Massie's Underground Clinic for Kissing).Tension builds up when Massie is found to be a fake at kissing experience. But emotions run wild when Claire finds Alicia kissing her boyfriend as a way to get revenge for kissing her own crush. To add to the drama Dylan finds her famous talk show host mom kissing her geography teacher which causes her to run off into the woods mad, dragging the rest of The Pretty Committee along with her.Although they were specifically told not to venture off into the woods without adult supervision they continue to go deeper and deeper in.After an encounter with a grizzly bear the girls finally arrive back to camp grounds safely - only to find that they have been expelled from Octavian Country Day school!
5-0 out of 5 stars Spectacular series!
I started reading these books before the summer started and Im hooked! To live like Massie Block and her friends would be like living among the gods. Sure they are spoiled snobs that we all hate to love, but, Hello?? we're entertained by it. Thats the important thing that we read a good story that keeps us entertained and we want to read more, and more of them. Lisi Harrison should be one happy camper. Cause I don't know anyone who doesn't like her books. THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars i luv this book!!

Few stories offer more warmth, wisdom, or generosity than this tale of two boys, their fathers, their friendship, and the chaotic times in which they live. Though on the surface it explores religious faith--the intellectually committed as well as the passionately observant--the struggles addressed in Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great book!
I have read all of the books in this series and they were all amazing. This one was one that caught my attention more than the other ones just because all of the girls in the book are more independent and rebelious. It is a classic girly girl book that keeps you on your toes. I couldn't put it down! It took me only a day to read and it was killing me that I hadn't yet read the last book. I highly recomend it to anyone that likes love stories with a little twist! It tells the story of four girls Bridget, Carmen, Tibby, and Lena. They have been best friends for their whole life and have to again seperate for the summer. Each girl goes to their summer destinations. This can not tear them apart of course, they write to eachother and pass around a pair of pants. These aren't any ordinary pants though they are magical. They bring good luck to each girl and fits each of their very different shapes. A symbol of friendship and love that is with them, like a blanket. Put this on your top for "must read!"

4-0 out of 5 stars Girls in Pants Review
Girls in Pants is the sequel to the sisterhood books 1 & 2. This book is about 4 teenage girls who have magic pants that fits all of them and brings them good luck. The book tells you about thier lives the summer before they all go of to college.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Septembers are growing up...well, partly, anyway.
Tibby, Lena, Carmen and Bee are now 17 and have just graduated from high school. All are looking toward college in the fall. Not all of them eagerly, but at least with the knowledge that college will help each reach a desired goal. Tibby is planning to go to film school at NYU; Lena wants to go to art school in New Jersey; Carmen to Williams; and Bee, well Bee could go anywhere she wanted. Every school to which she applied accepted her. She chose Brown.
