3-0 out of 5 stars It was ok
This book was an easy read and wasnt all that scary to me but it had a good plot and stuff. So if u have nothing to read waiting for another book thiswould be a good book for that

4-0 out of 5 stars surprisingly good
I was browsing in my local bookstore and picked this up because of the cover. I wasn't expecting much it turned out to be surprisingly good. Although it's a kid's book the creep factor and actual scare quotients are high. In one exquisite scene the hero, Bryan and a buddy are running for their lives. They know that they are not imagining things, they know that if they slow down or fall they will die and they know that the adults in their town will not help and somehow don't want to know about the Dark Man. They are totally on their own. Scary stuff.

5-0 out of 5 stars Engaging YA read
This was a fun story about Miranda Tate, who wrapped her father's car around a telephone pole and was sent off to reform school.
5-0 out of 5 stars spine-chilling boarding school tale
After fifteen-year-old Miranda uses her stepmother's credit cards for a "little" shopping spree and takes her father's car for a spin that ends in a "minor" accident, she's unceremoniously shipped off to Bard Academy, a school for troubled teens.Miranda notices right away that things at Bard are a bit off.All the teachers go by initials only -- Mrs. B and Mrs. W, for example.None of them are ever seen eating or sleeping, and Mrs. W always leaves mysterious wet footprints. The first student she meets there is a tall, dark guy named Heathcliff who can't read, thinks her name is Cathy, and is intent on helping her. There's also the rumor that a student disappeared bloodily into the woods sixteen years earlier. As if things aren't complicated enough, the cutest boy from Miranda's old school comes to Bard, and is casting plenty of attention her way.Does Miranda have time for dating and ghostbusting? She's about to find out.Suspenseful, chilling, and excellently written, this book will have you looking at old classics in a new light.

3-0 out of 5 stars Interesting approach
After Miranda Tate wrecks her father's BMW and maxes out her stepmother's credit card, she is sent to Bard Academy, a boarding school on Shipwreck Island, Maine. With its Gothic setting, Bard Academy could be straight out of one of the classic novels to which Cara Lockwood is indebted: Wuthering Heights, Dracula, and Frankenstein.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not One of Pike's Best, But Still An OK Read
Chain Letter is one of Pike's earliest novels, written in 1986.Pike peppers this book with cultural references from the '80's, which make it a bit dated. How many teens in 2006 will have a clue who Natassja Kinski is and that she was in a sexy photo with a boa constrictor?
5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
This was the first Christopher Pike book I read, and is still one of my favorite ever.If you want to read something good, than this is the bookl.I liked how the letter had the whole colom system, and Neil being not just one of them, you have to read number two to see the second Caretaker(Sasha). In short, this book is good.Read it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Pike's best, very entertaining
Of the four Pike novels that I've read, Chain Letter is by far the best. Pike works within a strict formula that involves a whodunit, attractive young protagonists, and a thrilling sense of danger. In this particular outing, these elements are bolstered by a stronger-than-average set of characters, and above all the nifty idea that a chain letter is making demands that must be met.

Editorial Review

It only took one little tab of LSD to open the mental door 17-year-old Evan Barrett slammed shut the night his parents disappeared beneath the ocean eight years ago. As he unknowingly ingested the drug put into his drink as a prank, the whole horrible evening unfolded again: the violent storm, the frantic mayday from his parents that came through on the family’s ship-to-shore radio, the hopelessness of knowing that there was nothing he or his older brother Emmett could do. Now that the demons of his past have been re-awakened, Evan must confront his fear by discovering once and for all what really happened to his parents. Was it a botched attempt to fake their deaths due to an imminent drug-smuggling investigation by the DEA, as pragmatic Emmett believes? Or something more other-worldly? Ever since he was little, Evan has heard stories about a shrieking, ship-eating sea hag who lies in wait for victims off the Jersey shore. Called Ella Diablo Agujero by the locals, Evan simply knows her as The She. Could her scream have been the last thing his parents ever heard? Evan is determined to find out, come hell, high water, or both. While Carol Plum-Ucci’s writing style is often overly verbose and dialogue-heavy, adolescents nevertheless continue to be drawn to her complex mysteries that, like Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Courtesy of Teens Read Too
Carol Plum-Ucci has established a niche for her mysteries by blending realism and the unexplained. Following upon the success of THE BODY OF CHRISTOPHER CREED and WHAT HAPPENED TO LANI GARVER?, the author penned a credible tale that is part problem novel and part supernatural thriller. THE SHE takes the reader to familiar territory in young adult fiction--death, drug abuse, rebellion against authority, and dysfunctional families--while also presenting a haunting overtone that prevails from the first page to the last.

What it's about:
2-0 out of 5 stars Suprisingly not good
The book had an interesting premise but failed to live up to it.The book was exciting for about 10-20 pages. The rest was based on teenage suicide, drugs, and sex with no real stunning writing engaging in the characters feelings and emotions. It boiled down to a story of unrealistic characters trying to find themselves. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Eh...
It was an okay book. About a bunch of teens having a birthday party on a remote island. Most people leave the house then when returning one girl finds a surprize in the kitchen. The main problem in this book was that R.L. Stine tried to put too much suspense in it and it sort of gets old. just buy a used copy for a penny for reading when you have nothing else to do. I reccomend that you get the babysitter 1 by R.L. It's one of my favorites! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great
This was a good book, but it could be better. It took them 150 pages to get to Alices party.Nothing bad happened before that.We learned about people for 150 pages.Once it got to the end though, the book pcked up.A few other good books by Mr.Pike are Monster, Bury me Deep, Whisper of death, The Evil Heart, and Remember me.

2-0 out of 5 stars Decent young adult thriller
Once again, Christopher Pike brings us into a world in which a roomful of attractive high schoolers have to figure out who among them is the murderer.

5-0 out of 5 stars A fine leisure choice
Neal Shusterman's latest `Dark Fusion' fantasy Duckling Ugly continues his series which takes a classic fairy tale's fantasy and provides a contemporary twist. Cara is ugly - even her own parents can't deny it - and her schoolmates are cruel. When she receives a mysterious note suggesting she's destined for greater things, even the wise woman of the town warns her destiny may be extraordinary. Does it have anything to do with the handsome boy she's been dreaming of? A fine leisure choice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best One Of The Fear Street Saga Series
This is the 3rd book in the series. It's about a girl name Nora & a boy name Daniel want to stop the curse of the family. They think that the only way to end it forever is to get married. This book actually need 10 stars because it was better than the other 2.

2-0 out of 5 stars Cursed Forever
The Burning is one of the sagas set in days of old explaining the curse that possesses Fear Street.it is an interesting read but it involves much death and is not a cheery book by any means. So I am wondering if it is really worth it.There isn't really a positive aspect or moral to it.Except, perhaps, that the Fear family's own evil is what eventually destroyed them. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Thriller!
It was an incredible book! The killer is back! It was so suspenseful and thrilling! I liked it just as much as the first book! It made me jump reading it, and I couldn't put it down.

4-0 out of 5 stars it was a fun book
This was a very...... fun book. i dont think this book was as good as the first one, but it wasnt terrible. It was fun, exciting, and sometimes scary. I think it was a good book to read when i couldnt find anything to do on a rainy day in the summer. i would recomend this book to any loyal R.L.Stine fan. :P

4-0 out of 5 stars very scary
This book is scary but not as scary as the first. Jenny gets a new babysitting job and is seeing a shrink. She still can't help but wonder if someone is following her. Everything is going fine until she starts getting the same phonecalls as before. She thinks that it is her boyfriend because he is the only person that she told what happened to besides her parents. Then she thinks that it is Mr. Hagen because strange things happen even with her boyfriend. The last phonecall she gets tells her to go to the cliff where Mr. Hagen fell off of. 5-0 out of 5 stars Very Satisfying Read
Unlike most of you that read this book, I never did see the movie, so when I picked this up I knew virtually nothing about the story.Although it does have its suspenseful moments, I would not classify this as a "horror" story. Not a slasher tale, but a VERY emotionally moving tale about the preciousness of life.I foundit extremely well written with some rather unexpected plot twists.5-0 out of 5 stars COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A handy Scout resource!
This handy little book was written for the Boy Scout leader, to give you stories to tell around the campfire, as well as tips on how to tell them. There are twenty-four stories here: ten funny stories, and fourteen scary ones. Couple all that with the Telling A Story chapter, and you have got yourself a handy Scout resource!4-0 out of 5 stars Good Campfire Book!
Fun book to have with you when camping with kids! A few stories may not suit children too young, but otherwise, light and great around a campfire!

4-0 out of 5 stars A fun-filled, and scary read!
If you are interested in camping out in the woods, and telling ghost stories this book would be a great read.My favorite tale is "The Boy Who Cried Werewolf" which is a take-off of "The Boy Who CriedWolf" story.Harriot is effective at being both funny and scary withthis story whose ending is reminiscent of shaggy-dog stories. The secondhalf of the book has some pretty frightening works, like "A Night atthe Delany House", which is a creepy tale about two kids who are daredto stare at a haunted house for a night.Kids will love it, especially thefunny ones. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Keeps getting better!
Prowlers: Predator and Prey is the third gripping installment in Christopher Golden's series about three ordinary humans (and one who isn't ordinary or human) who hunt down the prowlers, amoral monsters who've stalked the world long before man came along. Prowlers are the creatures from whom the werewolf myth originated. Prowlers aren't supernatural; they don't have magical powers but they are ultra strong, ferociously fast, and very durable. And their main prey is man, who are their preferred choice of snacks. But they can be killed by normal means.
1-0 out of 5 stars Golden is a Hack.
This was the worst piece of trash I ever had the misforntion to read. It's like a recycled Steve King novel filled with TV Movie cliches and bad plot development. The only thing supernatrual about it is that it's super stupid.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent and harrowing!
In the war against the Prowlers, a race of werewolf like creatures that cloak themselves in human skin, Jack Dwyer finds himself facing horrors in the real world and beyond it. Jasmine, the surviving member of Owen Tanzer's pack of Prowlers, has put a hit out on Jack and his friends and family. The hitman is far from human and very cunning. As Jack is trying to contend with this real world threat, Artie reaches out to him from the Ghostlands. Something called "The Ravenous" is killing spirits on the Otherside-- ripping their souls apart and consuming them--and he needs Jack's help in finding out how to stop it... Predator and Prey is the third in Golden's original series. I've been hooked since the first book and the series just gets better with each book. An outstanding horror/action series from an outstanding author. I can't wait until I get my hands on #4, due out in April! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars "Boy Heaven" is a must read...
...and not just for young adults.I am a mother to an eighteen-year-old daughter and I was compelled to read this novel to the end in just two sittings.Kasischke's take on an urban legend through the lives of three teenage girls and the boys they touch is riveting.Although I was much different as a teen than the girls portrayed in this novel, Kasischke brings in many familiar adolescent details--emotions, group and individual behaviors--things I haven't thought about in years.I felt like I knew these girls, and that I had more in common with them than I'd want to admit. The plot is fast-paced and glimmers with sexy danger.Kasischke's use of language in this novel is just gorgeous.Every image contributes to the plot in crucial ways."Boy Heaven" is one of the most expertly crafted stories I've read in a while; every image means something, every character feels real, every plot line is explored fully.I can't wait for my daughter to finish it so we can talk about the surprise ending. This book is girl heaven!

Whew! Break out the handkerchief for this series - not to wipe away any tears, but to dab away the sweat that will break out. This is one HOT series dealing with seven teens and the seven deadly sins.
4-0 out of 5 stars A fine start.
Lust is the first book in a Seven Deadly Sins series by the fabulous Robin Wasserman. It is not perfect, but readers will still find it very difficult to put down.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book brought Sita to life
I knew Sita.I was Sita. After reading this series (vol 1 and 2) I felt that Pike was born to write about Sita and still wonder if he has stories stored away in his drawers about Sita.I loved Sita and miss her dearly.I have read these books over and over again; time and time again.I'm 25 now and have moved on to some of Pike's adult novels, but this one still brings me back, and I hear Sita's voice speaking directly to me from whereever she is.Thank you Pike, for this series and also for "Remember me" and "The Starlight Crystal".You have inspired me. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A Dark Fantasy
Shadow-black tentacles wrapped around the cradle of the telescope. A clouded face that swarmed with a million hideous insects descended upon the astronomer's desk and something with cold dark fur brushed past Tory, its breath sickly sweet.

Dillon Cole is 15. He loves to destroy things, but not for fun. There's some invisable force inside him that "makes" him do it. So in order to feed this "wrecking hunger," the same power that makes people go insane when they touch him, he has to keep on destroying. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Killer Book!
The Wereling trilogy is by far one of the coolest that I have read, and I couldn't put this book down!! I must've read it in, like, only 3 days worth of free time! I even stayed up well into the night just to find out what would happen next! A definite must-have, and a great piece of an even greater storyline! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Average buffy book
Id say that this book is a little mediocre for a Buffy book. Some of the character's personalities just arent the same in this book as they are on the show. The storyline isnt really all that original either. Buffy's on her own because all of her friends are betraying her. It couldnt have possibly taken that long to write this.4-0 out of 5 stars I had problems right off the bat
I always check what season i takes place iin and it said season 6 then i started to read it and got really confused because they were talking about season 7 stuff. But overall it was a good book.

3-0 out of 5 stars Dwindling the mood for reading..
the series are damn great..the games are cool but when it comes to the books..i think the story's a little slow and uninteresting...to be precise...i really don't think the writers of the Buffy book series should put up longer plots to make the book more appealing since I think it really dwindles my mood to read the book. However, the settings and characters are immense and totally coincide for each circumstance in the book. Keep up the good work and I definitely think there are remedies to rectify the error. ...
