4-0 out of 5 stars The Face on the Milk Carton
The Face on the Milk Carton was a good book. I can say that it mostly kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to read more. I usually don't read mystery books, but this one was very interesting. Within 5 min. of reading this book, I just could not put it down. The reason why I say this is a good book, and not a very good book is because, yes I did very well like the book but it had some parts where I felt as if Janie was asking a lot of questions and in my opinion she was sort of freaking out to much. So it made her sound really annoying in the book. Anyway if you are the kind of person who does't really like mystery, I suggest that you pick this book up and I guarantee you won't put it down.

5-0 out of 5 stars The face on the book carton
The Face On the Milk Carton is a good book. If you like scary or books that keep you on your feet, you would like this book. I liked the character and personality of Janie. She is just like your normal fifteen-year-old girl. She is in to boys and likes to look at herself in the mirror. During class she is always daydreaming. Her mom is trying to get her to do different activities with her like cake decorating, but she does not really like them; well, it's not her mom its her grandma. What I mean by that is her mom named Hannah joined a group and her grandparents saved Janie from being in a bad group. I recommended this book for all of the people that like books that keep you on your feet, and that like mysterious books suspens

5-0 out of 5 stars Great young adult book
Code Orange kept the attention of my 12 year old daughter who really doesn't like to read.It was on a list of approved books at her school for summer reading, so I was reassured that it would be appropriate for her age.I would recommend it to others of this age group.

4-0 out of 5 stars Code Orange
Code Orange took a long time for me to get a hold of and it was pretty much worth the wait. I found that this book was very exciting and I enjoyed it very much.
4-0 out of 5 stars All About Orange Code.
This book takes place in New York City in present time. Mitty is a 15-year-old boy who thinks that life would be so much easier without school. The only reason that he makes himself go is Olivia. Mitty takes advanced biology, and he's not really sure why. His class is assigned to research a infectious disease using books as their textural references. If he does not make a good grade on this test, he'll go back down to regular biology. Mitty would be fine with that, but it would mean not being in Olivia's class. So he decides to do the project. He chooses Variola Major, commonly called smallpox. While researching, Mitty comes upon a envelope stuck in between the pages of a disease book. When he opens it he finds several, what he believes were once smallpox scabs from a 1920 epidemic. As Mitty is writing his paper, he describes what smallpox does to your body. I recommend not reading these parts on a stop-and-go bus ride on the way to school, it only makes it worse. At the end of the chapters, the author tries to scare you by implying that the scabs had gone into his nose, and were affecting Mitty. He himself can not decide if he actually has this disease which he and the rest of the world thought no longer existed, or if he is simply imagining it.

4-0 out of 5 stars The voice on the Radio
Have you ever been betrayed by your best friend or boyfriend and felt like you could never forgive them? Well, this book is all about how Janie's boyfriend went to college to become a DJ for a radio station.
4-0 out of 5 stars the Voice on the Radio
The outside reading book I read for this essay is The Voice on the Radio. It is the third novel of the Face on the Milk Carton by Caroline B. Cooney. The genre of my book is fiction because it has very slim chances of this happening in a real life event. The protagonist is Janie Johnson; she is the victim of what is happening in the book. The antagonist in this book is Reeve Shields, Janie's boyfriend, because he is telling the story on the radio in his college station WSCK, against her knowledge of it. Janie Johnson has now gotten close with her real family and has decided to go to with her older sister, Jodie and her younger brother, Brian to surprise Reeve and see around the campus of Hills College. Reeve has been spilling Janie's kidnapping story all over the campus on the radio station at the college. Reeve thinking Janie would never find out about his little secret, he kept going on with the story even though he knew it was morally wrong. One ordinary day at the station Reeve gets a phone call from a listener who is actually Janie's kidnapper (so she says)! Seconds later he gets another call from a listener and quickly picks it up. The man on the other line is Brian, Janie's little brother! Their conversation is short but not sweet. Janie did find out about the radio station and even heard one of Reeves stories of her. Janie decides she can't trust him anymore but is too scared to do anything at the moment. So question is; what happens to Janie and Reeve? Will they keep on the relationship or end it coldly? Will Reeve keep telling the fascinating stories of Janie or love her so much that he quits his job? The them I choice for this book in always go with your first instinct, follow your heart and be true to your loved ones. I loved reading this book. It made you think and kept you wanting to read on, it also had a lot of suspense. The only suggestion I would have to make is that you read the first two books, the Face on the Milk Carton and Whatever Happened to Janie? Those books really help you with the characters background.I would say 4 out of 5 stars because at times the book was a little slow, but yes I would recommend this book to everyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Thrilling Mystery
This exciting sequel to The Face on the Milk Carton and Whatever Happened to Janie is as good if not better than the books that came before it!Unlike the first two, The Voice on the Radio is all about Reeve, Janie's boyfriend.Reeve is now a college student and works for the college radio station WSCK in Boston. He is a talk show person at the station. When his first time to talk comes, he talks about Janie and her kidnapping situation. The listeners are immediately hooked! Will Janie find out that Reeve is selling her story on the air?Find out in The Voice on the Radio!

3-0 out of 5 stars What I found in What Janie Found
We already know Janie, or Jennie, was kidnapped by Hannah Javenson. What we didn't know is that Janie's father, Mr. Johnson, has secretly been supporting Hannah by sending her checks every month.Janie finds this out when she is put in charge of the bills because her father has a stroke.Janie decides to go find Hannah at the postal box the checks are sent to.She creates a plan to go visit her brother, Stephen, at college in Colorado. When she gets there, however, her friend Reeve and her younger brother Brian dissuade her from going to find Hannah.Luckily, she doesn't go, and making that decision helped her a lot.I thought this book was good, but not great.I would, though, recommend the book for those who enjoyed the first three books.
4-0 out of 5 stars Janie
Have you ever thought that you knew every thing but found out you were missing half of the story? And you have to choose what to do next about it? Maybe you investigate further to figure it out?
2-0 out of 5 stars Weak end to a decent series
To go as far as the last two books but then not confront and punish the malefactor Hannah made this book and its predecessor a waste of time to read.Cooney started with a great idea but ran out of steam after "Whatever Happened to Janie?"Stick with that book and "Face on the Milk Carton" and you won't go wrong. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Operation: Homefront Book Review
Operatuion: Homefront was an amazing story about your mother leaving to fight the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein. Laura, Nicholas, Langan, and their father, Mr. Herrick must face the reality that there mother is fighting for Iraq and she is doing it for America and the broken-up family must stick together everyday to keep up hope and figure out what to eat for dinner every day, and not watch TV all day long. Now again, I though this story was outstanding and people 12 and up should read this book as soon as possible!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Operation:Great Reading
I'm not much of a reader, but when I picked this book up to read for an English class. I couldn't put it down.In the book, Operation:Homefront, Caroline B. Cooney points out some very good issues about if your parents or one of them is told to go to war.No matter what, the family shouldalways work together and stay on tasks. That's why I give this book fivestars.

3-0 out of 5 stars gives a good description of what life without mom is like

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Plot(s)
I finished this book, and thought it was great! It ends right there, which leaves the reader wanting to know more about what happens to the character. I really hope there's a sequel, cause i'd read the sequel if there is one no matter what. =)

5-0 out of 5 stars Vicki's Review
Goddess of Yesterday by Caroline B. Cooney is a great book for all readers 11 or 12 and up. It is 244 pages (in very small print) and has a nine-page epilogue that tells what really happened in the time the story takes place, which is the beginning of the Trojan War. It is a historical fiction book with some but not a lot of fantasy. I would compare it to the book about the Trojan war, the Iliad, because it takes place in the same time and mostly the same place, and it is about the same subject.

5-0 out of 5 stars great read!
I thought this was one of my favorite books! The story is very interesting and a great book to do a school report on.The book is mainly about a girl named Mercy Carter who is about 11 and the time. One cold winter night, her town was taken over by a bunch of native americans. These Native Americans killed many in the town and took hundreds of captives.Their plan is to march all the way to Canada from Deerfield Massachusetts. When they get to the Native town, Mercy learns the Native's way of life, and learns to become a NAtive. She learns the language and everything. When ransom arrived for people in the Native town, will Mercy choose to become an Native, or go back to her home?

4-0 out of 5 stars The Ransom of Mercy Carter
The Ransom of Mercy Carter is a historical fiction book about a young girl who along with about a hundred people from her little frontier town, is kidnapped by Indians. This book is very exciting and suspenseful, it really brings you into the difference between the Mohawk indian way of life and the Puritan way of life. Mercy and her friends are seperated and dispersed throughout different Indian villages to be adopted by Indian families. Mercy lives with her Indian "family" for a long while waiting for a ransom from the English that seems will never come. I will not give away the ending but all i can say is that this book is an extremley well written book that makes you have sympathy for the characters in the story.
5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK!

2-0 out of 5 stars bad ending
This book was just O.K.I was so excited to read the last book, and was very dissapointed. There was too much of camilla and renifer, and not enough of the main characters. The ending was very bad! I was sooooooo confused! Was Strat born again? Will anny forget about the old strat and take the second strat? What was the deal about the sand in the watch? How did the second strat have a dream that he was floating on the nile? My other friend couldn't figure this out either. The book would of been good if it diddn't have that ending.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing End to Good Series
After a several-year wait, I found For All Time and was happy that another Time book had been written. However, the story disappointed hugely. My biggest beef with the story was Annie going back to ancient Egypt. The point? I didn't see one. And really, I didn't need another oppressed girl 'finding herself' as Renifer did. In fact, the entire Renifer story was unnecessary and frankly, a bit boring.
2-0 out of 5 stars I can't believe the series ended this way...
i remember being devoted to Cooney's Time series some years ago, and religiously tracked down the first 3 books. A few weeks back, my friend came across the fourth book, For All Time, and i was ecstatic, for i wasn't aware of its existence. The book was fun and engaging, however, the ending was rushed and an extreme disappointment. For years i was committed to the Time series, and to see it end the way it did made me feel as though i have been wasting my time. I won't give away the ending, however, i fear that devoted Time readers will be left feeling as though not reading the series would have been more agreeable. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Three things that really bugged me
Okay, so I really, really adored the otehr two books in this series, but a couple things in this particular book really annoyed me:
3-0 out of 5 stars weak for a third book
I have read the whole series by Ms. Cooney, but to me this one's the weakest of the four. The story of Anne and Strat was going good, and then she has to bring Devonney and Tod in to the scene. But I do believe that she had her reasons. During the period, women were suppressed by male, and Devonney was way ahead of her time. It did both Tod and Devonney good to learn about the past and present(or future) and realize their potential as a human. Although it was an odd-one-out from the Quatret, it was a good read.

3-0 out of 5 stars I want Annie & Strat backk !
Ok this book was alright.... I thought the point of this book was Devonny & Tod, and their romance. But then, it spent a lot of the time, focusing back on Devonny's time. This bored me greatly!!! Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BUCKLE UP FOR A FAST-PACED READ!
Caroline Cooney is a master at rapid paced action that takes your breath away.
5-0 out of 5 stars She'll Be Coming Round The Mountain...
Caroline B. Cooney's latest novel, HIT THE ROAD, is without a doubt one of the funniest books I've ever read. Britanny is in for quite a surprise when she arrives at her grandmother's house to 'babysit' her while her parents are on an Alaskan vacation. You see, Nannie has plans of her own--none of which includes staying home and watching tv--so Brit, relunctantly at first, joins her schemes little knowing how those adventures would change her life.
4-0 out of 5 stars A fun-filled road trip adventure
Sixteen-year-old Brit has only had her license for 11 days when her parents drop her off at her Nannie's house while they go on vacation to Alaska. Little does Brit realize, but she's about to get the driver's education of her life. Nannie doesn't plan on sitting in the house for the next two weeks; she has bigger things in store. Nannie and her three best friends from college --- Flo, Aurelia and Daisy --- have gone to every single reunion since their college graduation up until last year, when their adult children won. 5-0 out of 5 stars Flight 116 Is Down Is Awesome!!!
Flight 116 Is Down is the best book ever!! I am an extremely avid reader, and this is the only book that I can read front to back and 2 minutes after reading the last page start it all over!! I love this book because it's soooooooo descripitive!! Most kids that hate to read and are forced to for school read the first chapter and the last chapter. This is impossible with her books!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book! shouldn't miss this one!
I started reading this book last sunday, and I finished it by Monday evening. This book really touched me, it had good combination of emotion and thrill. It was a story about 16year old Heidi and a drastic day that changed her life. What would you do if an airplane crashed in your backyard? Heidi had to face this question as she is sitting alone one saturday night feeling sorry for herself.A jumbo jet crashes into the woods behind her house.Heidi discovers that she has depths of strength and valor that she didn't know about. She along with 17 years old Patrick, and other volunteer workers, struggles to save the lives of passengers and crew of flight #116.This book is packed with action and emotion which makes it a powerful combination for readers.

3-0 out of 5 stars Mixed Bag
As mentioned above, The Terrorist was definately a mixed bag. The story line was exellent and Billy was the most exciting and character I've seen for a long time. Honestly though, besides the plot and Billy, the story takes a nosedive. The sterotypes were very annoying to read; about America and Muslims. I'm not muslim; but I could see the that they were being unfairly portrayed as primative, violent, woman beaters. Americans were being portrayed as naive and ignorant.
5-0 out of 5 stars I Love This Book : )
This book is one of the best books i have read by Mrs.Cooney. I would recomend thisbook to people in grades 4-8. it was a sad and suspenseful book which made it very good. Although i wasn't very satisfied with the ending (itneeds more info) i LOVE this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Both Sides of Time
This book was a cute love story with a hint of murder mystery. The main Characters in this story are Annie Lockwood and Hiram Stratton Junior also known a as Strat. The only thing is Strat is from the past. In this story Annie falls through time, she fell from the late 1990's to 1895. She then falls in love with Strat abd he falls in love with her; it was love at first sight. The only thing was strat was to be married soon with a young ladie by the name of Harriet. Certainly she was not as beautiful as Annie. This made Harriet devastated. Annie messed up a lot of things.

2-0 out of 5 stars waste of time
I have read many of Caroline B. Cooney's books, and this, is not what I would showcase as her best. The characters and situations were sort of thrown at the reader, and little background was given. You were just supposed to feel what the emotions of the characters were on your own.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Read
This book was a great read. It had suspence, adventure, love, and truths about life. I loved this book for its comparisons to life today in the nineteen nintys and life in the eighteen nintys. It is a superb sequal to Both Sides Of Time in all of its glory.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good old-fashioned chase
This book has excellent pacing and no waste of words. Annie Lockwood, a girl from the 20th century, makes her way back to 1895 to be with Strat, a young man she met during her first travel back in time. She thinks it will be a romantic romp but before she knows it, she's on her way to an insane asylum to break out Strat. Dastardly Walker Walkley is hot on her heels and you can almost hear the thundering piano.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good book
This book was incredibly sad, but very good. I liked how the narration changed rom character to character. The best part: This book totally made me think it was really Christmas. The details are fantastic!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Book!!!!!!
This is a very sweet christmas story, but wonderful for any time of year (i read it in april). i took it with me on a long car ride, and ended up reading it three times. this is a very good book for all ages, especially around the holidays

5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite Christmas book ever!
This is a great book for Christmas time. It really gets you thinking about your life, and what a family means. I like how it didn't really have chapters. Each "segment" was introduced by a line in a Christmas carol and really pertained to the action of the story. I loved the ending too- I would have never guessed people could come together like that. This was my favorite Christmas book 4 years ago, and it's still my favorite today. ... Read more
