4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting book of the week
The book SOS titanic was mostly about the pasengers. Some of the people on the ship did not about what was going on around them. Before they hit the ice burg the lady thinks it looked prety. As soon as they hit the ice burg and new they were sinking. They all began to scatter all ofer the top deck. I liked this book because the author really explans what people are doing. Like when he hits the ice burg the captainis reallyworied about the passengersand what happens to them to them. also they are in a big hurry to get the life boats. they alsoanounced that ladys and children first. Another thing I like is there are different carricters than in the movie . So Icouldent have watched the movie.

5-0 out of 5 stars SOS TITANIC
SOS Titanic is a great, quick read if you enjoy books about the Titanic. It was written by Eve Bunting. It gave me mixed emotions because I knew that the ship was going to sink, but I did not know which characters were going to die. I would give this book a five star rating. This is a great story about survival and a test to see who your true friens are.
1-0 out of 5 stars A good book to read.

Jumping the Nail
5-0 out of 5 stars (...)s Review
I read the book, Jumping the Nail, by Eve Bunting. Jumping the Nail was about young teenagers who jump a cliff called the Nail and land into the water below, called the Deep, no one has ever reached the bottom. Dru and Mike, the main characters, try to stop people from jumping the Nail. There had been many stories about what happened to those who dared to jump. Elisa and Scooter, Dru and Mikes friends, decide to jump together to show their love for each other. After they jump Elisa begins acting strange, and starts telling stupid stories, that no one believes, that down at the bottom of the Deep there is a car with two dead bodies in it. The ghost of one of the bodies tries to make Elisa stay down in the Deep, Elisa gets away and comes back to the surface. More people start to jump. Some one gets hurt, and someone dies. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes ghost stories. ... Read more

This book was a great and fantastic! It had a lot of mystery and spence in it!! At the end of the book you wont guess whats gonna happen! You would think its one charactor than another! My compet rating on the book is:: **** 4 Stars/Very Good!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars An ok book
This book was just okay.it was exciting at some parts, but at other parts it was boring and seemed to drag on and on.It's mostly about a kid named Marcus who notices strange things happening and a strange noise from the garage. Overall it's an ok book.I wouldn't recommend it to everybody, especially people who like all action books, but some people who like slower unfolding books might enjoy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite books!!
I stumbled on this book in my local Library, borrowed it, read it, and then bought it. It is one of the best books I have read. Danny (the star of the book) lives with his mom and grandma and one day saves an elderly lady from a mugger. But it turns out that the kid who was doing the mugging was the brother of Priest, a member of the toughest gang around. This gang refers to themselves as the Outlaws and consists of Cowboy, Maxie, Jelly Bean, and Priest. The Outlaws are now out to get Danny who, to escape them, jumps on a tour boat heading for the abandoned prison - Alcatraz. Little does Danny know that the Outlaws have followed him...
3-0 out of 5 stars it was ok
This book is about a teenager named Daniel but most people called him Danny. Danny saw an old lady getting robbed and so Danny goes and beats up the guy who robbed the lady. Little does he know that the guy he beat up is the brother of one of the most toughest gangs in school. He goes to Alcatraz Island to escape but he ends up trapped there with the outlaws.I liked it because it has a lot of action.

3-0 out of 5 stars alcatraz rewiew
i disliked the book beacause of the story.the setting and the names of the characters, and the look of the characters reminded me of more of a rodeo in the west rather than a gang that terrorises him.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Sudden Silence
Imagine walking with your brother and his "girl" on a lonely highway. And all of a sudden your brother is run over by a car. And you never saw who was in that car.
3-0 out of 5 stars AHA
A Sudden Silence, by Eve Bunting, is a love story with a criminal background. There are interesting in a, in some scenes, suspensful plot. But in first place it is a love story about the relationship between a girl and a boy, going together through the difficults of their life. The main themes are alcohol consum, loss of a family member and friendship. The book is suitable for reading in class. Much fun !

4-0 out of 5 stars A book for english courses
"A Sudden Silence" is combination of a dramatic love story and a criminal story. Because of this fact everyone is able to find a theme in the novel in which he is interested. We recommend this book to all English courses because of the easy language and the exciting story and above all because of the broad range of themes. ... Read more

This book is a real chiller, I couldn't put it down until I finished it! Eve Bunting wrote this ghost story with astounding ability.I really feltlike I was reading about someone's real life. However, I was a littledisappointed when you didn't find out what happened to Vicky and Ted at theend. When Vicky, a girl that had died in a car crash, witnesses thethirteenth person to go over "Departure Point", she is determinedto find a way to stop accidents like that from happening. She meets upwith another ghost by the name of Ted, who was another victim of thedangerous cliff. They become fast friends along with Ted's other friendRebecca.Unable to communicate with the living, they all are agreed thatsomething has to be done about all the accidents caused by "DeparturePoint", but are unsure on what to do. Rebecca, haunted by thepast, decides that she can't "live" with what she did that causedher death. I can't go on anyfurther, because to tell more would rob the reader of the surprise ending. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A good book for young adolescent girls.
This is a beautiful little book about a 15-year old mother, her dreams and problems now that she has a child.Nicely illustrated, the girl has to deal with gossip, the father who doesn't take responsibility, her parents and the things in her life that have become difficult or impossible because of her child. It would appropriate for girls 10 or over, especially those who are at risk of a pregnancy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Doll Baby
Eve Bunting realistically tells the tale of 15 year old Ellie and her unplanned pregnancy. This book is written at a 2nd-4th grade level and it would be a great resource for families dealing with teenage pregnancy, especially if there are younger children in the family. In my opinion, Bunting covers a delicate topic with tact, and emphasizes that having a baby is hard work, and requires a great deal of sacrfice. ... Read more

I read this when I was in sixth grade and loved it.I read it again recently, 15 years later, and it's even better than I remembered! It's a fun read, even for adults. And I love the fairy-tale ending...

4-0 out of 5 stars Not Deep, But Cute
I read this in Junior High so I believe I was even a little too old for this book. It was a quick read. I do remember, however, that it brought back memories of what is now a classic, "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret" because Margaret also has to deal with a kissing game at a friend's party.5-0 out of 5 stars Two Girls Plan to Become Kissing Experts
Just before her 13th birthday, Karen Kepplewhite's best friend (Janet Hamm) surprises her with an early birthday present: a book entitled "How to Kiss Like an Expert". By memorizing and practicing beforehand, they hope their experience will pay off during the kissing games at Karen's party, especially since the two boys (Mark Ritchie and Danny DePuzo) they have crushes on will be there. However, the one complication they face is the new girl Karen reluctantly invites to the party, Star Sumner, the beautiful seventh grader who lives nearby. Both Karen and Janet think she'll be too much of a distraction for either girl to get anywhere with Mark and Danny, but it still won't stop them from trying.Read more
