Editorial Review

So what if he's legally blind? Even with his bottle-thick, bug-eyed glasses, Paul Fisher can see better than most people. He can see the lies his parents and brother live out, day after day. No one ever listens to Paul, though--until the family moves to Tangerine. In Tangerine, even a blind, geeky, alien freak can become cool. Who knows? Paul might even become a hero! Edward Bloor's debut novel sparkles with wit, authenticity, unexpected plot twists, and heart. The writing is so fine, the story so triumphant, that you just might stand up and shout when you get to the end. Hooray! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Tangerine Book Review
This bookis outstanding.it talks about reletionships and tradgedy as well as disabilities and the truth. I gave this book a five star rating because of the apparent time, thought and effort put into the creative text. My absolute favorite part of this book is the very ending because it shows remembrance of a lost freind. I would recommend this book to people with interests such as soccer, and ages 11-14 because of the setting at a Tangerine Middle School and Lake Windsor Middle School.

1-0 out of 5 stars Ummm...Fantastic!
Tangerine was an "read catching" book. When my language arts class read it I couldn't help but pay attention.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Student's Review
I think kids from ages 10 and up could read this book. I think this because there is some swearing in it, and this book has kids of this age in it, so it will probly be easier for them to conect with the characters. The author made it clear that she likes to leave her readers on the edge of their chairs, because this book was very mystrious and suspensful. That was the one thing I liked about this book. Over all the book Tangerine was very good! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Mystery, fantasy ,ghosts, oh my!
"Story Time" was a fun book with an impossible but not fantastical plot. The Whittaker Magnet School is in the basement of the Whittaker Library and at the Whittaker Library the books are haunted... But this is not a horror story; it's actually fairly subdued and almost plausible.Much of the book is not even about the ghost, it's about the awful Whittaker-Austins who run the school and the testing the students endure every day.But there is a mystery, unexplained deaths, possessions, people going crazy, and Pogo, the librarian who speaks only in nursery rhymes and who may hold all the answers to the mystery.

4-0 out of 5 stars Story Time
Story Time, by Edward Bloor, is a great satire for young adults. It's funny and dark, poking fun at how highly we value test scores and taking strict schools to the extreme.

5-0 out of 5 stars Impressive and Wrenching
"London Calling" is one of the most emotionally wrenching YA books I've had the pleasure to read in the past year. The character of Martin (JMartinC is his IM username) is as real as any kid I've run into recently.Yes, there is time-travel of a sort.Martin is somehow transported to the past through the agency of an ancient Philco Radio, and Jimmy, his raggedy companion in World War II London, is a masterful, albeit tragic, character.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perhaps my favorite book ever
I believe the first time that I read Crusader was when I was in 7th or 8th grade, and immediately fell in love.Since then (I'm a Junior in High School now), I've probably reread it at least three times, and each read was just as thrilling. Bloor has become one of my favorite authors, and Crusader is my absolute favorite book by him.He has such a unique handle on writing, an incredible knack for character development, and creates extremely unique, yet oddly relatable characters. This is one of my top choices for the next book-to-movie conversion, if they could do it justice of course.Absolutely incredible read, don't pass up the opportunity; go to a library or book store as soon as you can and pick up a copy.If you're here to see whether it's worth reading, all the positive reviews (including mine here) should be reason enough to convince you, it's definitely worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Crusader

Crusader was a very fun and interesting book. It was very realtistic. It was about a young girl whos mother was murdered at their aracade shop. She is very curious to know who killed her mother. Later she comes to find out the real killer by doing some research herself. It was really good. Crusader had me hooked. I really enjoyed reading this book because it has alot of action to it. it wasnt just some book. I really couldnt put the book down. It was very interesting. It learned so many things from reading this book. And it brought alot of things to my attention.
