Georgia Nicholson is at it again in the newest installment of Louise Rennison's hilarious series about the trials and tribulations of a lovelorn British high school girl. STARTLED BY HIS FURRY SHORTS does not disappoint readers who have grown to love the quirky Georgia, her eccentric family, and her Ace Gang of best buddies.
5-0 out of 5 stars Let's go down the disco!
In this, the seventh book of the Georgia Nicholson series, Georgia finds herself in "the oven of luuurve" once again. At the end of the last book, Then He Ate My Boy Entrancers, Georgia had given the Italian Stallion, a.k.a. Masimo, an ultimatum: to be an exclusive couple.
5-0 out of 5 stars Laugh-till-you-fall-off-the-bed humor laced with slightly raunchy fun that will keep you reading long into the night!
Georgia Nicolson is not currently in a happy place regarding her love life. In fact, she's stuck in neutral in more ways than one. According to Georgia, she's not only on the rack of romance, but in the cakeshop of agony, the oven of luuurve, and the bakery of pain. And, if you must know why, it is all because of the Italian Stallion, Masimo. The man who has knocked the Sex God - aka Robbie - right out of her mind, and taken up residence in her heart, as well as in the band the Stiff Dylans, as their new singer. But Georgia has made the mistake of a lifetime. For, when she finally decides to give Masimo an ultimatum - become her one and only or hit the road - he tells her that he needs to think about it. And, we all know that whenever a guy uses the words "I need to think about it," he can't be thinking anything good. Which is why Georgia is on the rack of romance. Now, to distract herself from thinking about Masimo and the fact that he may not call her, or even want to be with her romantically, Georgia has thrown herself headfirst into MacUseless play rehearsals at Stalag 14, and is in the midst of helping Ro-Ro plan a Viking wedding that is scheduled to take place around five years from now. The only problem is that Dave the Laugh is around more than ever - what with MacUseless rehearsals and such, and Georgia is finding herself more and more pre-occupied with kissing him, all because she has been struck by the horn. If only Masimo would just give her the news, she could spend all of her time kissing him - or at least dreaming about kissing him.

Susanna English, a fourteen year old girl who lives in the small puritan community of Salem, is torn betweeen two worlds as her family gets accused of witchcraft and is sent to prison.Susanna desperately wants to join the circle of the girls who meet at the parsonage every week, but what she doesn't know is that they're planning to make things interesting and sudddenly act "afflicted" by witches whom they accuse at random; and the magistrate's believe them. Susanna stays in Salem with the Putnams, as her family is in Boston, and soon falls in love with Jonathon Hathorne. Finally Susanna is faced with having to make the hardest desicision of her life: tell the people of the evil girls' plans and risk getting accused of a witch, or keep quiet and watch innocent people lose their livesfor no good reason.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Break with Charity
A Break with Charity is an amazing and enlightening book. It brings you into the time of the Salem Witch Trials and makes you feel as if you were there. The perspectives given in the book are brilliant as you watch entertainment in a highly restrictive world go from seemingly innocent to powerful and deadly.

5-0 out of 5 stars READ THIS BOOK
America and London are two different worlds. The people speak differently, eat differently, and drive on different sides of the road. So it's a big transition when someone from either country goes to visit the other one. Then He Ate my Boy Enrancers,by Louise Rennison, is the sixth in the Georgia Nicolson Series, which was kicked off by Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging.. In this teen-fiction story, British 16 year-old Georgia Nicolson travels to America. She's not exactly what you call a typical teenager, as she makes up creative words, such as "hamburger-a-gogo land" (America), and loves getting into trouble. Despite her outgoing and comical personality, Georgia may have trouble keeping her wacky family in line. Vati, her loony father, has Georgia begging him not to wear his overalls in public. There is also Mutti, (her mother), and Uncle Eddie, who humiliate her at any given moment. Her 4-year old sister, Libby, is just as crazy as all the rest of them and emphatically loves to sing, er, interesting songs. Thank god Georgia's best friend, Jas, is also tagging along. She may regularly complain about missing her boyfriend and have annoying bangs, but she is the sanest person accompanying Georgia on this trip. The good news is, Masimo, gorgeous Italian-American singer of the band, The Stiff Dylans and Georgia's nearly boyfriend, is visiting his family in Manhattan. He thinks Georgia is still back in London, so imagine his expression when she pops up out of nowhere and says hello! This, however, may be a bit more difficult to achieve then Georgia pictured......
4-0 out of 5 stars Then He Ate my Boy Entrancers
One of the hilarious tales of the British teenager, Georgia Nicolson, est tres amusant. Now that the "love god" is "out of her thoughts, and never to return", there is a new man on her mind. The Itallion Stallion, Masimo. Georgia is very impatient about his return from "Hamburger-a-go-go"(America), and is extatic when her family informs her that this is their new destination for vacation.
5-0 out of 5 stars funniest book you will ever read!
I've read all the books in this series and this one is by far the best. Georgia Nicolson is going to Hamburger A-go-go land (America) with her very embarrassing family and her best friend Jas. Georgia is hoping to see Masimo in America but her family is very goofy and they keep her and Jas on a tight leash (not to mention that Georgia is in Tennessee and Masimo is in New York City!) On top of that everyone they meet in Tennessee thinks their accents are funny or Irish (they are British.) but as always Georgia survives her family and gets some very awesome surprises when she gets back to the UK. I definitely suggest this book to anyone who loves to laugh or who can relate to Georgia. I loved reading this book and once I started reading I couldn't put it down till I was finished reading! ... Editorial Review

She has a precocious 3-year-old sister who tends to leave wet nappies at the foot of her bed, an insane cat who is prone to leg-shredding "Call of the Wild" episodes, and embarrassing parents who make her want to escape to Stonehenge and dance with the Druids. No wonder 14-year-old Georgia Nicolson laments, "Honestly, what is the point?" A Bridget Jones for the younger set, Georgia records the momentous events of her life--and they are all momentous--in her diary, which serves as a truly hilarious account of what it means to be a modern girl on the cusp of womanhood. No matter that her particular story takes place in England, the account of her experiences rings true across the ocean (and besides, "Georgia's Glossary" swiftly eradicates any language barriers). 4-0 out of 5 stars The Funniest book I have ever read!!!
When I write review about book, I usually put a little describe of book on begging. But in Georgia Nicolson's diary there is no story - just teen-age life, only 100 times funnier! I can't say this is my favorite book, since I read many books that are much better then this, but it's definitely most funny book I have ever read! I would recommend it to any teen-girl who's aged 13 and up. There's no person which can read it and not laugh at last once! There are parts on which I laugh every time I read them. When you read 1st book you'll wish to read them all! Books are really funny, sassy written in teen stile, so, even if you don't like to read you'll like it - I still haven't met person that didn't liked them (my ma even said that books are great, she good hooked-up too!). Only bad thing are swears, but it's just way on which young-girls speak today. Scary, but true...

5-0 out of 5 stars A Hilarious Read Time After Time
I am 19 and got this book the summer I turned 14, right after it was published. Over the years, as the new ones come out, I've read it again and again. It never ceases to make me laugh aloud and it remains one of my very favorite books among classics like Little Women and Huck Finn, as well as its older cousin, Bridget Jones's Diary. Georgia is absolutely hysterical and I consider her a friend after all this time; I can't see myself ever outgrowing this book or the ones following in the series.

3-0 out of 5 stars For teens...
This book was somewhat funny, however, IMO it is for 15-year-olds and older (even though the main character is 14, the language and topics are pretty mature). I see one reviewer recommended it for 10-year-olds and I think this is far too young! Please read it first before recommending to anyone younger than 14. It is really only for the "young adult" category. I also did not like the use of a certain swear word; do the author and editor and publisher not know what it really means? It really has no place in most books, let alone one targeted at teens - this is not an adult book. It easily could have been replaced and really turned me off to reading the sequels. That, plus Georgia is actually a fairly unpleasant person. ... Read more

Cici who was always considered a little kid is now 14 hoping to be accepted by the older kids on the island. However when she arrives on the island after missing a summer she discovers that Zoe had been murdered the summer she missed in a cottage. She also learns that the person they accused for murdering Zoe and is in prison is her family cooks son. She also has the hugest crush on his brother. Cici is sure they have the wrong guy and when she starts finding clues she wished she would never had went looking for them. This murder mystery might just be connected to her family more than she ever thought it would be. This is a great book it started slow but it got really interesting. This is the kind of book that you can't stop reading you wanna know who did it. So do you really wanna know who did it it was her close friend one she never thought could do something like that.....?

4-0 out of 5 stars A good book
I liked this book it was hilarious , and the situations were cool too. But through like half the book she crying and whining and stuff and then she makes out with like two guys and gets her heart broken , she just puts herself out there you know . But all in all it was good.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is like cotton candy...
...fluffy, sweet, sticky, hilariously fun, and bad in really large doses. However, in small doses, this book and the rest of its series are absolutely fantastic. (I laughed so hard when Georgia's "boy entrancers" stuck together.) I would advise that one not read all six - going on seven - of these books one after the other. Georgia's shallowness begins to annoy after a while, but individually, each of the books are riotously funny and a great quick read. ... Read more

Having recently read this book for a class I was appalled and astonished at its historical inaccuracies.Although billed as 'historical fiction' it is just fiction.Other than the name of the school and the names lifted off of headstones, there is no history here.It should not be treated as anything but fiction.See the following website for more details.[...]

I'm a four-teen year old who really disliked this book because alot of things are just made up. On page 32, Nannie's mother asks, "What will you learn? To be more silly than you are?" Lakota Children where treated with alot more respect then that. Then another thing when Belle Rain Water gave Nannie a prayer stick, A hopi child wouldn't give a Lakota child a prayer stick! Sacred objects like these were/are not things children have or share. Just one of Ann Rinaldi made up things. And alot more botherd me while I read the rest of the book. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Book Review for The Fifth of March
Like A Break with Charity and Hang a Thousand Trees with Ribbons, The Fifth of March by Ann Rinaldi is a masterpiece of young adult literature. In my opinion, this book is an example of her very best pieces of writing. The Fifth of March takes place in the times leading up to the Boston Massacre, and the problems that come after.Rachel Marsh, a servant to John and Abigail Adams, comes to be friends with the British sentry stationed outside the home, Matthew Kilory. All Rachel wants is to find a place in life; being confused with her choices and worried with upcoming riots.Fiery and passionate, Matthew has a hard time agreeing with Rachel on many events that are affecting their lives, but Rachel trusts and supports him through hardships. When she witnesses the bloody massacre, Rachel learns what she must do to protect Matthew and the other soldiers accused of murder.
5-0 out of 5 stars Anna Rinaldi does it again!!!!!
This is a really, really good book. It's one of the first Ann Rinaldi books I ever read, and I loved it!!! The plot is really good, and the characters are easy to like. You sorta feel Rachel's confusion, pain and joy.

The first book was refreshing and funny, soured only by continous lesbian bashing. The second book was decidedly less so, and by this third installment, I am personally quite sick of listening to materialistic, shallow and self-centered Brit Georgia Nicholson whine about her parents, friends, and school. Even the subplot - Angus' courting of the neighbors' cat is so out of control Georgia's dad threatens to have him spayed - is not funny.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Thematic Collection For Teaching
This is an excellent collection of stories dealing with the complexities of identity and identification. Although the book is marketed as young adult, every story in it is worthy of serious academic study. I have taught it every year for the past six years and am always amazed at how the collection itself is better than the sum of its parts. Each story raises and plays off issues that the others deal with. If you want to teach a thematic unit on the issue of friendship, enmity, or identity this is the only book you need. Alternatively, you could use this as a great introduction to a novel that deals with the same issues.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Georgia is back
Georgia is back with another astonishing sequel, Dancing in My Nuddy Pants. You will not be disappointed in this hilarious come back. If you are in grades 7-9 you will love the humor of this self-absorbed teen. In this novel there aren't chapters there are diary entries. My favorite diary entire is the one that talks about the neighbor's cat getting pregnant. The neighbors came over and accused Georgia's cat. Georgia's dad is hilarious and says many hilarious things about it. This is a pretty good novel except for the fact that is very confusing. She is British and speaks some British in the book. It's pretty hard to understand but besides that it is a hilarious and very exciting book.

Again Georgia is back. She is still having trouble with her red bottom but she is learning to cope with it. She learns the way of the horn (how much you fancy someone) and decides she has the general horn for Dave the L. (so that explains why she keeps snogging him on accident J). She is still going out with Robbie though and later in the story to Georgia's dismay it is reviled that Robbie must go to Australia for a year L. I am so glad that there is a sequel to this story because this book leaves some questions unanswered.

I really liked this book. I would recomend this book to teenagers becuase it is mostly about dating guys and girlsI think that this book is really cool becuase there is this dictionary in the back that has all these made up words in it and all through the story are all those made up words, and i think that it is cool becuase some of the words are really weird like porkies and spondulicks. The main person in the story is named georgia and she is in love with this guy " The sex god " which has something to do with another book like this one "On the bright side im now the girlfriend of a sex god" Georgia gets really confused in the book becuase of her friends going out with each other and then not. I also think that this is a really cool book becuase its like a big diary and it has mostly times instead of dates in it and i always liked books like that. So thats what i think of the book and who i recomend it to!

1-0 out of 5 stars BORING!
This book was about a boy named Jasper Jonathan Pierce, an orphaned indentured servant who is in search for a better life. (...). This was the worst book I have ever read in my entire life (I have read a lot of books)! This was one of the first historical fiction books I have read and it will be the last! Nobody on the face of the Earth should read this book! It was not exciting at all and I did not like one thing about it!Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Ann Rinaldi has done it again...
Ann Rinaldi never disappoints--Nine Days a Queen was another excellent novel.
5-0 out of 5 stars Not Just For Teens!
NINE DAYS A QUEEN, perfectly reveals the compelling story of Lady Jane Grey. Her story, which is told in a first person narrative, begins at the age of nine when she is sent to the Court of Henry VIII by her manipulative and ambitious parents. Here she meets her future guardians, Katherine Parr (the sixth of Henry's wives) and Thomas Seymour; she reconnects with her cousins, the future King Edward VI, Princess Mary (later Queen Mary I) and the Princess Elizabeth (Elizabeth I).Her happiness at escaping the harsh, unpleasant world of her parents is charmingly evident though almost fleeting when one considers her short life.Soon enough upon Katherine's death, Jane is back home as her parents continue to scheme to make the most advantagous marriage and future for her.Maneuvered into accepting the crown after Edward's death in a ploy filled with both religious and political overtones, she is abandoned and left to falter by those who should be closest to her.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but less than I'd hoped for
I should preface my review by saying Ann Rinaldi wrote this book for teens, and I read it when I was 35, after reading several other books on the Tudors.

This book starts out right in the action, with Rob Mallory witnessing his neighbor, Mrs. Calloway, being pushed out her window. However, because everyone is so busy with his sister's wedding, no one listens to Rob when he says Mrs. Calloway's death was not an accident. When three gunshots nearly miss him, a flowerpot almost falls on his head, and his food gets poisoned, Rob thinks someone is trying to kill him. When Rob investigates Mrs. Calloway's house, he finds three spent bullet shells on her balcony...
